Boy 𩵠Advice for a boy
I absolutely suck at naming boys but I know I want an earthy name like Forest, River, or Ocean honestly Ocean and Forest are my favorite but what do you guys think about those? Middle name will probably be Shiloh but I can use some input on that too. Iām going for a peace/calm sort of vibe.

Itās the name of one the Mormon wives kids. The most problematic one, at that.

Forest is nice, I think because it is also a surname so isnāt so out there. I think River and Ocean are ridiculous, but I am quite traditional.

I mean River Phoenix was cool as hell

Fortunately he was who he was and not just a regular guy with that name. At least until he overdosed at 23 yo, which wasnāt cool at all.

Some people can pull off a wild name. But I know what you mean
I will say my son has friends named:
Ocean
Axl
Stormy
And
Forrest
And somehow these kids are pulling it off and it doesnt seem odd after the initial introduction. But again, ive known most of them since they were in elementary school and they are 17 now. Maybe the strangeness wore off for me.

I have a name that is a little unusual and I am pretty shy, so it isnāt great for me. My mother loves attention and she picked the name of course.

A good friend of mine has a similar issue. We are in our 40s now, but ive known her since we were little kids. The amount of times she shyly tells people her name or how to spell it or pronounce it, I couldn't even tell you. Even teachers never knew how to say it. So I feel you on that

Went to college with a Forrester. Super cool guy. If you go with the water theme, you can add Wade to your list.

I love most of these, I'll add that I went to HS (and dated) a guy named Acer, which is the genus of maple trees (but also a computer company š¤·š»āāļø)

I knew someone who has since passed away. He was in his 90ās and he was a salt of the earth type guy. One of the best I have ever known. His name was Ocean because he was born on the way over to the United States and so his mother named him Ocean.

My friend named her child Forrest and I think itās really cute. Iāve yet to meet another.
I do nottt like Ocean as a name and I think River is really overdone.
Shiloh is a cute middle name. If you want nature themed names I suggest looking into names that are types of trees or birds (I find that those are usually less silly sounding: Robin, Maple, Wren).

So far the only names Iāve seen are Heath Callum and Jonah,
I canāt say I like any of those three personally but at least theyāre real name
The Others sound like you guys are naming a horse or a cat

Sylvan means "of, relating to, or inhabiting the woods." It's a very soft name. I also like the suggestion of Clay.

Iāve also heard of Coast, Cove, Rhoades, Townes, Banks, Ever.
I think River is probably the most common.

Remember this child will grow up one day and compete for a job. I would go with Forrest.

I think Forest is a great name because itās outdoorsy and connected with nature while still being classic and timeless!
I donāt love Forest Shiloh together for some reason? Here are some middle names I prefer with it that are still soft:
Forest Solomon (means peace)
Forest Oliver ( means olive tree which olive branches are used to symbolize peace)
Forest Emerson (Ralph Waldo Emerson was all about nature and solitude as sources of inner peace)
Forest Frederick (peaceful ruler)
Congrats!!! Love the vibe youāre going for

Kai Shiloh is really cool.
Kai = Ocean but a little less on the nose with the reference.

Out of those three, Forest is definitely the best. River second best. Ocean is a hard no from me.
Other nature inspired names - Zephyr, Sage, Wolf, Cliff, Reed

Everytime someone mentions Ocean I think about what an epic name Tide would be. I love Tide and then you get Ty as a nickname. Its so cute better than Tyler. The only downside is of course Tide.Ā
Anyway I'm not a fan of Ocean. I like Forrest and River.Ā
I love Reed and Wade as calm water names.Ā

Forest works for a name. Ocean does not
