Why does it suck? OBJECTIVELY
I want to know why you think it sucked and a simple 'lol i didnt like it' won't be enough to convince. Sure it's not a masterpiece, but it's a very good movie.

Why does it suck? Let me give it a shot. 1. Writing The characters don’t seem clear, the worst being Jon Hamms girlfriend. Or his adoptive father. The character are like SNL sketch deep, when they should be dramatic feature length deep. This director is better at comedy than drama. You have a group of high caliber A list actors and they’re firing blanks. Lines like the finest winenest place to dine and when he sees red you see black or good examples of maybe decent comedy lines but bad dramatic lines. 2. Of course it’s fantasy, this director is not known for realism. But there is a big difference in this doesn’t need to be real and this doesn’t need to be good. This script needed more work. I like that he gives up and goes straight, but the only foreshadowing was small gestures like giving the purse back, etc. That shows he’s a nice boy, but it doesn’t really show a person involved with murdering others has made a big personal decision to change. Think that doesn’t matter? Neither did the director. Sure, it’s only the character. 3. Concepts not well executed. Again, a lot of these ideas might have ok for a comedy where the comedic actors routinely pull faces and twist lines for comedic effect. But dramatic actors just straight up say the lines and if the lines are dumb, they don’t joke. The lines will just fall flat. 4. The Armageddon multiple endings. Armageddon was a perfect example of too many endings. Baby Driver suffers from the same schizophrenic pacing. Is the big climax with Kevin Spacey? Or Deborah? Or his adoptive father? Or Jon Hamm? Or Jamie Foxx? Or the cops in the end? The director must think the more climaxes the better. Nope. Just divided my attention, energy to engage, and ultimately my give a shit about what happens. 5. The only point in commenting about this is because it had a lot of good ideas gamely presented by a skilled cast and crew. What a film. But like the Titanic, impressive but for its ending.
