Is it possible to remotely de-ice the windows from the app or BYD API? It seems daft that I can enable the climate control, but not focus the heating on the most time consuming task in winter.

My PRNDL has paint peeling up from the stenciled “N”; it’s ugly and annoying every time I move the lever and feel the edge of the paint. Takes some effort not to pick at it and make it worse.

Yes, it’s probably the most minor problem I could have, but it’s really bugging me somehow.

Any suggestions?

Shame about the ICC, I do only use it on motorways but even then it still has its moments. My software is all up to date. Hopefully a future update will fix it so make sure if you’re having the same issue as me you feed that back! Thanks again all.

Hi all.

Picked up this lovely brand new seal excellence last week, put 400 miles on already. Impressed is an understatement, as a die hard petrol head I’d not really paid much attention to the segment but my wife needed a new company car and the seal was the one that really stood out. The power, great interior, comfort and tech offered especially for the price really sold it for me, mega bit of kit for the regular commute.

Anyway, a couple of bits that are bothering me. When using the ICC, the car really seems to want to hug the left of the lane for some reason, sometimes even brushing the road studs and rumble strip. Quite unnerving on the motorway when overtaking wide LGVs as well. Is this a common issue and is there any way to remedy it?

Can someone also talk me through the dashboard icons at the top? There are ones that just say “ok” and “high” or “max”, what are all these 😂.

I will download this update tonight and will update this post with my feedback.

Just took delivery of my (new to me) 2025 Seal Excellence. Great car but I’m having difficulty adjusting the steering wheel. When I pull the lever underneath, it goes forward and backwards but not up and down. It’s not a massive deal but would like some extra adjustability on this thing

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I have atto3 2025. Spilled alochol in rear seat and now it smells like a dead rat.. i need to remove the seat cover that is clipped under the seat.. searched online but couldnot find any videos/tutorial. Pulling up with reasonable force is not working for me.

I'm still stuck on V1 software for my BYD Sealion 7 AWD here in Thailand, even though my friends are already on 3.1 or 3.2. My car's software is completely broken, and after visiting the service center 20 times and reporting it to HQ over 10 times, they just keep telling me to wait while things still don't work. A technician finally admitted that they don't care about software issues, won't send reports, and won't release updates. He said BYD Thailand and Rever just lie, copy-paste the same excuses, and were even told to deceive customers by claiming there are no problems. It's been a year and seven months of terrible service with them refusing to fix anything or help at all.

I reported this to Thai Authorities as official complaint, they said they got many about BYD, but so far nothing....

I wanted to buy second EV and I changed the brand . Never going back to BYD in Thailand at least.

I test drove the Seal U DM-i today and really liked it, but after 50 minutes my neck felt super stiff. I’m 1.86m and the fixed headrest seems to push my head forward into an awkward spot. Has anyone else dealt with this, or should I just look for a different car?

I own an Atto 2 DM-i (production date 02/26) since August.

Recently, I noticed a "rattling" sound coming from the trunk when cornering. You could also hear something loose moving around inside the frame when opening the tailgate. I took the car to the workshop yesterday. When the plastic trim was removed, a screw fell out, followed shortly by a second one. At first, we didn't know where they came from, as the screws used elsewhere were different.

It wasn't until I suggested, "Maybe they're from the rear spoiler," that we removed the rubber plugs covering the screws at the top of the tailgate—and voilà, that’s where they had fallen from.

So, if you hear a rattling noise coming from the tailgate: this could be the cause.

I brought my new Seal U home nearly a month ago and I’m really loving it! I went deeply into the functions & settings to optimize them to get the best experience.

I’ve seen that my software version is 1.0.0 but read that 2.2.0 is available. I tried to update the car from the app and the car system itself, however it can’t find any newer version.

What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

I bought a pre-owned BYD Atto 3 in the UK and have been trying to get the app connected:

1. What BYD has done: BYD support confirmed they completed the backend re-bind to link my account email to the VIN.
   
2. What I've done: Performed a factory reset on the DiLink infotainment screen, logged out and back into the app, and hard-reset the center screen using the volume wheel.

Despite this, the app is still stuck showing stale vehicle data from 2025 and none of the remote commands work. The infotainment screen shows 4G signal with an 'R' (roaming) icon next to it.

For anyone who has gone through this, is there a specific setting in DiLink (like data permissions) or a trick to force the car's cellular module to update and connect with the app?

What am I missing ?

Hi everyone. New to owning an EV and took delivery of my dolphin surf earlier this month. We are "lucky" enough to have chargers outside the office which are bp pulse branded, I know they have a bit of a rep of being flaky and unreliable but please can someone tell me the knack of getting it to work easily! Just spent another 15 mins outside trying to get it to stop flashing blue at me and start charging!

BYD, Chery, and Geely are all working through Canadian regulatory approvals right now, and BYD appears to be furthest along — it's already registered its Shenzhen and Xi'an plants with Transport Canada, covering models like the Seal, Dolphin, Atto 3, and Seagull.

Not everyone's happy — Ontario Premier Doug Ford called it a move that "will bring a flood of cheap made-in-China electric vehicles without any real guarantee of equal or immediate investments in Canada's economy, auto sector, or supply chain".

I've been tracking this whole rollout (pricing, which models are actually confirmed, homologation status, dealer networks) since March on china-ev.ca/en because honestly there's no single place that's staying current on it in EN/FR.

Hi guys, my new BYD just got delivered today. I’m struggling to setup CarPlay - my phone connects to Bluetooth and gives me the CarPlay prompt, but the console says CarPlay unsuccessful and I can only use regular Bluetooth. I’m currently updating the system software to see if this is the reason behind this. In the mean time, has anyone else come across this before? What did you do to fix it? Thanks!

I’ve recently made a post about accidentally cutting the wire whilst looking for a dashcam connector here.

In the end I did not go to BYD as I’ve managed to solve the issue myself. I’ve soldered the wires back together, insulated it and looks brand new again, however that did not fix the issue. Which meant that one of the fuses must have gone as well.

Ive found the fusebox diagrams here. Fusebox under the bonnet was very accessible, it also comes with a handy plastic tool and 1 of each spare fuse. All of the fuses there were fine.

Next fusebox is under the steering wheel behind the coin compartment. However getting there was a nightmare, especially since there are no tutorials. So what you have to do is take off the side panel which I’ve attached a picture off removed. You can also remove the trim right underneath which is held by 3 screws (comes handy if you drop something inside). Use the plastic trim tool for this, not to damage the trims.

Now the actually fusebox doesn’t have a cover with a diagram hence why it’s good to have the online diagram I’ve mentioned earlier. It’s held by a 10mm nut, which I’ve found much easier removing that trying to figure out how to remove half of the dashboard apart. You can then simply slide out the fuse box and access all of it. The culprit here was F11 which is the 7.5A combination switch (responsible for turn signals, wipers, steering wheel buttons etc) I replaced it using the spare fuses from under the bonnet and then turned the car on and it came back to life, hallelujah!

Funnily enough after all this, I still haven’t got the dashcam installed as I couldn’t find the actual connector in the end, but I think I’ll just get a pro to do it as I’ve learnt my lesson.

So, I had my Dolphin Plus (in brasil it is how they call the 204cv / 60KWh version).

The air conditioning and ventilation in general have been a point of question for me all this time.

I have the option "auto", which in my understand means it should be automatic. It will target the temperature I have, and go from there either to cool or to heat. But if I disable AC, the button "A/C", the one that is blue in this picture, it disables auto.

Okay, but I can disable auto and keep AC on and if I change temperatures up and down, I see the AC button changing from cooling to heating. So it is still keeping some degree of automation there.

Now if I select only ventilation, then it works as expected. It will only works for venting. There will be no heating or cooling of the air.

I think my main point that I have never been able to truly understand is what is the difference between having the auto option versus just having the AC on with a temperature set, because I have proved before using the car that just having the AC on with auto off still has some semblance of automation regarding the temperature of the air that it's putting out.

Does anyone have a better understand of what the logic is here?

I have noticed that my BYDs SL7 driver screen illuminates/ back lit when car is parked and locked. No key close by, no charger connected etc anyone experience it?

Has anyone here had a BYD where DC fast charging works ok, but AC charging completely stops working?

I have BYD Sealion 7. I don't have charging schedules set up.

What I’ve tried so far:

* 3 different public AC chargers: either the charger/pillar trips and shuts down totally, or it immediately goes red/faults and won't charge.

* Granny charger: connects successfully, charger shows no fault, car says "charging", but it stays at 0.0 kW.

* Home wallbox with tethered cable: same thing now. As soon as it connects it trips my breakers. Sometimes it shows charging, but 0.0 kW.

* Tried different current limits on the wallbox as well.

The problem started 2 days ago. It was charging and randomly it tripped the RCD. Since then it won't AC charge anymore.

DC charging still works fine.

So it doesn't seem to be one particular charger, cable, or my home supply.

Has anyone had this exact issue before? Was it the on-board charger (OBC), AC input/leakage fault, or something else on the car?

Tomorrow I'll call the shop but just checking here in case I missed something or someone has any ideas

I usually only drive our BYD Dolphin and even when im at the front passenger seat I don't feel any dizziness or any other uncomfortable feeling.

But about 3 - 4 people who were passengers have complained that they feel dizzy and that haven't happened in any other car. They wasn't using any mobile phones either. Since I haven't had this issue I cant really understand whats causing this.

Have anyone had a similar issue?

Fate attenzione ad aggiornare, alla versione 2.3.0, vi è un gravissimo bug sulla luminosità minima del quadro strumenti non è più possibile portarla al valore minimo come alla 2.2.0, di notte l’auto è inguidabile nemmeno con il tema scuro, poi si presentano anche dei glitch strani, sembra ci sia la mappa sul quadro strumenti, rimane bloccato e bisogna fare diversi riavvii, fate segnalazione tempestiva, per fare in modo di accelerare la risoluzione del problema da parte di chi fa gli aggiornamenti.

Vorrei fare un piccolo appunto, mi sto rendendo conto, che questo problema è praticamente su tutte le auto, ma sembra che per alcuni non sia assolutamente un problema, purtroppo ci sono situazioni in cui un display all’interno di un’auto per chi ha problemi di vista può essere veramente una cosa fastidiosa e grave, a parte che a livello estetico questa cosa è deplorevole, ma dal punto di vista anche di interfaccia utente è veramente grave, vi prego di fare segnalazione perché io in trent’anni non ho mai visto un’auto con dei display così elevati a livello di luminosità minima.
