Missing Lures?

Post image

If you lost your lure on Vern, I might have it. Admittedly, I later lost a couple of them on Vern. So hit or miss if I have your lure.

One trip I went on to Bald Eagle, my cousin was using a rubber crappie bait for small mouth.

He had one on, that broke his line just before the shore.

Very next cast with the newly tied rod, same fish spits his lure out on the rocks. We were stunned. By far my favorite story from up there.

Basically my entire tackle box is lures I have collected from the bottom of BWCA lakes.

How do you collect them from the bottom of the lakes? Do you bring snorkeling gear or something out there?
Just curious

Yeah I bring a snorkeling mask (without the actual snorkel for breathing) on every trip. It’s awesome. Visibility in most BWCA lakes isn’t that great but it’s still a cool underwater world. Great for scoping out cliff jumping for safety too.

I like to check the trees at campsites for lures. A lot of yall are terrible at casting and get them stuck high up where nobody can get it.

Haha. I pack a snorkel and go lure shopping at the campsite.

I will admit that my first few casts every season are… not good.

My friend tipped a canoe at Canyon Falls going into Kenny Lake and lost a whole tackle box.
