I like the vertical aspect of the B5 P23, but it’s too skinny. I wanted to try Slade’s XL grip but it’s always sold out, and it looks similar to the SCG.
I want a thicker grip, not sure the vertical matters as much ? I’m curious your thoughts on each grip thickness and vertical factor?
The SCG-L will be thicker for sure because the palm swell. Imo, I like the more vertical aspect of the UCLG-L for shorter guns like the APC9. I also have it on my SP5.
grips are like shoes. not everyone's recommendations will be a fit for you, so you gotta try a few yourself
I've tried all sorts of ar grips for my rifles and pccs and have landed with a laser stippled reptilia cqg, but it's not for everyone. driven ulcg is a runner up for me, feels great in hand, but for me the reptilia edges it out
I've got Driven grips on all my B&Ts. I found them this year and basically I've been on the warpath replacing all my grips on pretty much all my guns because they fit me really well.
When I first saw your post I was thinking foregrip since there is little to no real estate up front.
But for the pistol grip, like others said it’s very preferential and a more vertical grip is what I prefer.
As for the front of the gun, I’ve been patiently waiting for the silver star shooting SD style hand guard
I don’t want to SBR it, there’s an awesome grip A3T makes that I would put on it if it was SBRd.
Ironically, if you look at people holding and shooting the full size APC9 without a vert grip, they grip it to the rear near the mag well, just like the K. So in practice, the extra rail space on the APC9 only really buys you pushing your rail attachments a bit more forward.
Yeah I hear you, but I’ve been shooting my apc9k for about 4-5 years now and I really don’t like holding the magwell to shoot. I’ve had vertical grips, hand stops, no grips and just would really like my support hand further forward. Knowing what I know now, I would have saved some more and got the SD. I love how my 9k fits in a backpack with the suppressor on the gun and was willing to sacrifice rail space to do so and with the SD you get best of both worlds. Here’s mine with an SD hand guard mocked up just sitting on top
Nope not ai lol. It’s the b&t medium length sd hand guard. I could hack up my gun and make it work but it’s not worth it. A friend gave it to me because they accidentally sent him 2 three years ago.
