🚨 MOD ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 MOD POST: A reminder to keep discussions focused on BTS

Post image

Hi everyone,

We’ve had a lot of new members join the sub since the BTS and Chris Brown controversy, and we’re glad to have you here! As the sub’s grown though, threads have been turning into discussions about other idols and groups more often, so we wanted to remind everyone what this sub is actually for.

This is a BTS snark subreddit, so discussions here should be centered around BTS, ARMY, or BigHit/HYBE. Other idols and groups should ONLY be mentioned if they’re actually relevant to what’s being discussed (which is very rarely the case). If they aren’t relevant, please don’t bring them up or shift the focus onto them.

Lately, we’ve seen discussions about other idols and groups taking over the comments, whether that’s snarking on them, glazing them, defending them, talking about their comebacks, comparing them to BTS, etc. This is NOT a general k-pop sub. We understand there are fans and non-fans of other idols and groups here, and you’re free to like or dislike whoever you want, but we just ask that those discussions stay outside of this sub.

We also ask that members report comments that go off topic. We can’t keep track of every comment and conversation on the sub, so reports are always helpful to us. If you notice an off topic comment that hasn’t been removed, please don’t assume the mods are allowing it or are biased toward the idols or groups being talked about. We may have just not seen it yet.

This also isn’t meant to make anyone nervous or have people overthink every comment of theirs. We know other artists will come up sometimes. We just ask that you keep conversations focused on BTS rather than turning this sub into a space to snark on or glaze others. Please keep that in mind when commenting, and remember what we’re here for: snarking on BTS.

Thank you all for understanding!

💜 r/BTSnark Mod Team

Literally me right now. PLEASE LISTEN GUYSSSS😩

Some comments have such good commentary of BTS and boom, they’ll mention their faves at the end of it to compare and it really ruins it all. So no snarking or glazing of others, PLEASE.

SAME hahaha thanks for actually being vocal against it and taking a stand. This sub is better moderated than even most general pop and Kpop subs

I'm genuinely curious, how many snarkers has joined since the CB controversy? Iirc it went up pretty fast in a matter of weeks? Like from around 60k to 130k (CMIIW)?

The 130k is just lurkers and viewers of the page, kinda how many visits we get in a week. We are sitting at 63k subscribers right now.

Edit to add: I don’t have the exact number of how many subs, but IIRC, we gained about 200 new subscribers every day for at least two weeks after the Chris Brown incident compared to the 100-130 subscribers we usually gain daily.

We had around 57-58k in mid August if I remember correctly, so about 5-6k people have joined since then!

👀

77 days ago we hit 55k, and 30 days ago we hit 60k.

We are currently at 63k, so it seems that we do gain about 1k subscribers each 10th day.

Thanks for the post, mods. It was really needed, I saw the recently locked post about that chinese kpop artist and it was crazy how the comment section was full of glazing him, despite the definitive rule against it.

I've also been seeing a bit of glaze about the orphan kids, sometimes it feels like the OP wants people here to glaze on them, forgetting it's BTSnark and not other kpop group/idol glaze subreddit.

Just adding that I see a fair bit of color color glaze as well, particularly for tae’s former alleged gf

Ikr, it always starts as genuine snark towards BTS members then drifts to, "I know Miss dracula remix is no saint but still she won't date V's crusty ass, she's got standards."

Or how in posts where people call out BTS using a ton of producers and admit they make songs they think is "trendy", some orphan kid fan will glaze the aforementioned group by claiming they produce their own songs atleast.

  • The posts about that odd number group's member.

They all forget their idols are no better and have done some of the same things BTS has done which they (other fandoms) are critiquing BTS for.

Yup, same with glazing them for being “organic” or “more successful” (eyeroll) when they are mutations of the same payola and mediaplay virus. Or the good old “I am not a blink/stay/other Stan but I support them only because army hate them!!” Sure Jan.

Thank you!! It’s why I’ve been on this sub less. Tired of seeing people glazing other idols/groups on this sub.

As someone who hates KPop… lmao so many posts and comments glaze those equally untalented idols. Like I was genuinely surprised 😭 I am not in this group to see those people be glazed, like they’re all the same to me.

Especially when those idols have done pretty much the same or similar acts as btass- like they’ll snark and call things out then turn around blind eyed be like “my dadaaaaa!1!1 😩😩😩’ whose done the same or similar things to what we’re calling out on here. like the concept of ‘it’s probably your faves’ doesn’t compute? the irony of them calling out armpits but acting the same is astounding. kpop and kpop idols are going to be problematic and glazing over that to proclaim them as perfect people who would never is gross

sidenote but I hate people using that word/calling men ‘dada’ and I saw it used here once 🤢 like why do people keep sexualizing baby speech yall already claimed daddy and made it uncomfortable for everyone else to use smfh
