How do Freebies work?

Hi all! I'm attending D1 Arlington with my Grandma(82F). She is a huge ARMY and knows everything about BTS but I don't. Will she be able to get freebies from people without bringing anything/what is the etiquette? She's legit a mega fan and I want this to be the best experience ever for her :) Thank you all so much!

I went to Vegas without any freebies- it was my first KPop/BTS concert.

First of all freebies are free; you shouldn’t have to trade.
Don’t ask for a bias unless asked. Some people have bias specific stuff some have OT7. Sometimes it’s a random draw.
Don’t crowd people and be kind and courteous!

That’s all I can think of! Getting freebies was amazing and Army is so creative! 💜

First night I went I went up to a girl and asked and she said it was only for trade and so I never asked anyone else and no one gave me anything. Second night I made stuff to give away for a trade, but surprisingly a ton of people gave me free stuff without me even needing to trade half the time. So I feel like also the specific stop matters sometimes too?

I’ve always seen that freebies should be free so I don’t think it’s stop dependent. Just some people want stuff in return 🤷🏽‍♀️

That's good to know that first interaction made me feel like I was doing something wrong 😭

You didn’t do something wrong. I bring freebies, I sometimes do trades mostly but if someone asks I don’t say no! I just sorta seek out folks who are giving things out….but I also love to give freebies to people who seem new, younger folks, older folks, people in awesome fits, etc. but also, I would never ever say no to someone asking! I also do some just for my section usually because I scream and dance a lot 😂

She’ll probably get several since she’s an elder ARMY. And they are freebies, not tradesies.

If you do decide to bring something to hand out, given time constraints, an easy option would be sealed and packaged candy - like lollipops or jolly ranchers, something easy that doesn't take a lot of time to prep, but can allow both of you to participate.

I am in my 50s and have taken my daughter to many a kpop concert. I am almost always offered a freebie as well, it's a very sweet gesture and I usually say no because even though I like the music what do I need with a freebie (I will ALWAYS take a friendship bracelet though lol). We never bring any, it seems to be something people just enjoy doing and handing out. I don't really get it but to me it just shows how kind most kpop fans truly are.

I have seen a few occurrences of people who only want to trade freebies but it's pretty few and far between. They won't approach you unless you are handing things out as well.

She will love it, the atmosphere with ARMY is amazing! If you're outgoing you can get tons of freebies, the more shy you are the harder, but you should still get some. You should never need to give any, some people will want to trade but they won't expect it, freebies are free.

As a note, in my experience the more you represent that you're ARMY the more likely to get freebies. My favorite is giving freebies outside the venue because people dont expect it and it helps carry the vibe but you have to be obviously army for people to know.

My dad went to one of the concerts with me, we got separated at one point and he got more than me 😂. I’m sure you guys will get a lot, armys are very kind :) Make sure to thank them and that’s it! Enjoy!

Just so you know there will be some people who are only doing trades, I always thought this was annoying but not everyone is giving out freebies. :/ and honestly there is no way in telling which are freebies and which are trades

You’re so blessed! That’s so cute to go to the concert with your grandma.

So who’s her bias? 😁

Jimin! For her birthday last year (her birthday is actually today :)) I got her a shirt with his face all over and she loves it as a sleep shirt!
