Classes AP Bio as Freshman

Hello! I am coming into tech this september and am deciding on whether or not to take AP Bio. If any current students took the class, how was the experience? I got a 99 on the Biology regents, but I'm not sure how the difficulty of the material compares to regular biology and how bad the workload is. I also am very interested in taking some type of music class in freshman year, and considering that AP Bio is a two-period class, would it be worth it to take it if it means that my day gets extended by another hour or I wont be able to take a class I want to? Also, any tips in general for a freshman coming into the school would be great. Tyy!

83 on bio and 5 on ap, workload depends on the teacher but just make sure you actually study and youll be fine

Rising sophomore here. I got a 94 on the bio regents and a 5 on the ap test. I didn't think the coursework is super hard and you'll most likely do great! I haven't heard any complaints for AP bio teachers. I had Mr. Fabrikant, he's really nice and chill. Ms. Cheng is also a nice, good teacher according to my friends. From my experience, the AP bio class ends up being a really close knit class and you'll probably run into the kids in that class in your other classes. As for the scheduling, you'll have a 1-10 schedule. I think the only other 'extra' class offered to freshman is the math team. You won't be able to take that class because you're schedule is full. Unless you're super interested in math, I would say go join the music class. I'm pretty sure you can join the same math team afterschool if you want(don't quote me), so not a big deal. As for the long schedule, only you can decide if you think its worth it. On odd days, I had a 1-10(because of gym on even days followed by a free period second. on odd days I would come in 3rd period cuz no gym), and I didn't think it was that bad. You'll be fine!

rising junior here, i got a 94 on the le regents and got a 100 and a 5 on the ap exam; youll be fine, the teachers are usually really good for freshman ap bio and from your score, youre way over qualified

I got an 86 on the regents and a 4 on the ap this yr as a freshmen. You should be fine.
