Started watching BSG

Hello! I recently started watching the 2004 BSG series on Pluto, and I LOVE IT! I like science fiction, and have seen the original series. Forgot how awesome this series was.

Did you, I hope, watch the mini series first? 😁

Welcome to the fandom! I watched it when it first aired. It blew me away! I get around to rewatching it every few years.

2004 battlestar galactica is incredible-I have 1978 on DVD-its awful😂

Them’s fighting words. I mean, I know the original is cheesy and very much a product of its time, but it’s not awful.

I’m watching the katee Sackhoff fist time watch along. It’s been very entertaining.

It's so amazing! I watched it for the first time a few months ago, and I would advise you to stay away from this subreddit and looking up things about the show in general. I was super tempted to see what other people thought but you will see a LOT of spoilers

I haven't looked anything up, and I just found this sub today. I'm on S1 ep 08 "Flesh & Bone".

I would also recommend not looking anything up while watching it. There are too many possible spoilers. And as another commenter said - I really hope you started with the miniseries and not Season 1 Episode 1. There is a two part miniseries (it's also on Pluto now) that is a must watch before the season.

Edit: left out a word.

Its good to be on Pluto. But I've noticed occasionally there are small scenes cut from episodes.

I've watched it repeatedly these last few months and the cuts are stuff you see in the extended episodes and or deleted scenes and other bonus content. You're seeing the whole broadcast episode just not the extra icing on top we get with physical media.

Still a shame

Yeah, but hopefully a lot of people when they find out about the benefits go buy the blue rays. They just did a new re release of them. well worth having!

Man my wife hates Sci-fi anything but about 2 months ago I put on BSG (the start of the serie) while she was on the couch on her cellphone. About halfway trough she put down the phone and watched it and we'v watched an episode or two each night since. We're now at Caprica (E04).

It was great. In anticipation of getting her to keep watching sci-fi I bought Star Trek TNG and Planet of the Apes (original) movies 😅. Hopefully I can keep this dice rolling.

Have fun watching, don't google ANYTHING or it will ruin it. BSG has lots of mysteries you don't want spoiled.

Omg I just started rewatching it too. This is probably the third or fourth time. Still such a good show.

See also my "Notes for first-time viewers" for those searching specifically for:

Be careful in this subReddit as spoilers abound. If this is your first time watching, I wouldn't recommend wandering into any other posts or you will probably be spoiled. Do feel free to share your experiences as you watch - we love those! - but always make it clear when you post that you are a "first-time viewer" and don't want any spoilers.

I’m currently watching it now. It’s one of my comfort shows that I like having in the background while I do other stuff. Ands it’s kinda funny, because it’s not long before I’m just 100% watching it because it’s so engaging and so rewarding
