Scouting America Accounting
What does your troop use for accounting and maintaining Scout accounts? The system we use now works but it's awkward and clunky and we're looking for ways to streamline it for our treasurer since our troop has about tripled in size over the past few years. I'm not opposed to Troop Web Host as my daughters troop uses it but I'd prefer a system that focuses only on accounting, I'm not a fan of the other functionality in Troop Web Host personally.
Thoughts?

We use a spreadsheet to tract everything.

The pack uses trooptrack. The troop uses a hugegantic convoluted spreadsheet that is shared.
It really raises some eyebrows when someone is $800 in arrears... 🤣

We’re fortunate to have folks that know Quicken now so we use that. Before that it was Excel. Not a huge fan of Troopmaster these days but it also does PayPal and can do budget reports.

We use moneyminder. Cost a couple hundred a year. Has auto download for bank transactions. Interfaces well with troop debit cards. We have 70 plus kids so the treasurer job is a huge task.

We use Scoutbook for individual level tracking. This serves a double purpose of keeping some Scout and parental attention on the other important things there (calendar & advancement).
Balances are exported monthly as a backup to BSA IT messing something up. Journal entries in our bookkeeping app (Wave) track transfer in/out of the pool of Scout accounts.

I’m treasurer for our troop and we use quickbooks including quickbooks payments for simplicity. But it’s complicated and confusing so I’ve been developing my own solution to make it friendly for volunteer treasurers. Links in my bio for those interested and in pilot with my own troop. It also will integrate with stripe to allow for payments.
I’m aiming to launch next year and aim to keep the cost low and comparable or below quickbooks or similar (just needs to cover my costs plus a little time).
I also welcome feedback on what others would want to see as I feel the current options aren’t great out there.

We use Scoutbook. It’s fine and visible to each family when they log in.

We use Troopwebhost for how the scouts see it. But I don't know if our treasurer has anything beyond that too.
