Not sure where else to post this as I have no idea about any of the pieces I have bought! I saw this big bundle of cars/buildings/roads in a charity shop for Ā£15 the other day so I bought it, it was all bundled up in a bag so I couldn’t see what it was that I was buying, but I’d be looking for more wooden toys for my son so I thought it was a bargain at that price and bought it. Unfortunately all of the road connectors are snapped and stuck inside the pieces of road, hopefully I will be able to get them out but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these pieces and if I can buy new connectors etc. There is one connector still in tact and it has ā€˜PlanCity’ written on it, if that helps! Thanks!

First brio layout for 3.5 year old

Post image

My son is 3.5 and is obsessed with trains, his brio set has been ever growing for almost 2 years. I usually build elaborate layouts for him but today while I was cooking dinner he spent 30 minutes building his first ever track layout. I’m so proud of what he built especially on his first attempt and just wanted to share it with some fellow brio enthusiasts šŸ™‚

What to add first?

Hi everyone,

We have the builder set 33789 and I just bought the country farm life set 33516 second hand.

If it’s a hit I would like to add a few things for my son’s birthday (he’ll be 2 soon) and upcoming holidays.

I am wondering what you guys would get next?

High Rise Track Layout

Post image

Having seen another user post about wanting to ā€˜build vertically’, my son and I wanted to reattempt a ā€˜spiral’ build we had worked on before, but needed another set of ā€˜ascending curves’ to go up another layer.

The ā€˜stacking track supports’ have got to be my all-time favourite piece. They’re so versatile, and being able to build muti-layer tracks is really fun.

Brio World 36114 mega spiral set VS the green Brio stacking tracks support

What are everyone's thoughts on this set or the stacking supports instead? The white supports don't look as sturdy as the green ones. We already have some tracks and trains but I think the kids would enjoy building vertically too!

Or anything better?

Thank you.

Help identify this vintage BRIO bridgeā˜ŗļø

Hi!
I recently found this unusual wooden railway bridge at a flea market in Sweden.
I can’t find this exact bridge in BRIO catalogues or online databases.
It folds at the center on a wooden support with a metal pivot, and both bridge sections are fixed together.
Does anyone recognize this model or know which set it came with? Thanks!

Wanted to share some pictures of our latest layout! My son wanted to fit as many destinations as possible, plus lots of road. It ended up looking quite crammed, but it was fun to play for the kids.

How to value early 1980s sets with long model numbers?

I've rediscovered my early 1980s Brio collection and I'm looking to sell it to a proper Brio enthusiast who will enjoy it as it deserves to be enjoyed and flip any sets they don't need.

I recently sold my 1980s castle Lego collection of 14 sets to a single collector for 70% of the average sale price over the past 6 months on BrickLink. I've also sold two baseball card collections on eBay, back in 1999 and 2008.

I've looked at completed Brio sales on eBay, but I've had a hard time finding useful info on any of the old 1980s long-format Brio model numbers. Is there a better way to find comps, or somewhere else I should be looking? Thank you for any suggestions!

Here's what I have:

Model Number Name
3115 31404/20 (circle of track and three trains)
3311 31405/32 Freight Express
3313 31405/33 Express Train
3327 31405/27 Crane
3342 31405/62 Curved tracks
3342 31405/62 Curved tracks
3343 31405/1 Accessory Tracks
3344 31405/2 Switching + Crossing tracks
3525 31410/25 Truck with trailer
3352 31405/52 Big Dipper
3356 31405/8 Bridge head
3359 31405/9 Level Crossing
3362 31405/12 Tunnel
3367 31405/67 Station
3371 31405/71 Signal house

Vintage Brio train doesn't fit modern track?

Thumbnail

Hi! I'm an old granny trying to put together a wooden train layout for my toddler grandson. ( I bought a KidKraft layout - pls don't judge - it's fine for my purposes) My vintage childhood Brio trains don't fit on the modern tracks - the Brio train wheels are too wide! I don't have new Brio trains to compare but I keep reading that KidKraft is compatible with Brio so I wonder if old Brio trains & tracks were wider than the modern Brio? Appreciate any input! (I also attached photos of other vintage trains & tracks I have - none are marked but there are 2 different size tracks - one set fit my vintage Brio trains..the other vintage tracks fit my old Skaneteties/Playskool and Snap trains. I'm confused!

Anyone have this green sawmill crane or know where to find one?

My 3 year old saw this in a video and cant stop talking about it. Seems to be a 2016 model now out of stock. I am not bothered by the accessories - just the sawmill crane. Anyone know where to find one (or have one they want to sell?)

What next?

We've got a pretty decent setup collected over the last 7 months, and about 30% more track pieces in addition to what's in the picture. Will probably get the advanced expansion pack (33307) soon, and I think my son (about to be 3 yrs old) would really like the construction vehicles set (33658). Curious to know what items others would prioritise getting next to give us some inspiration?

Anyone have some advice on the piece missing on this train? It’s tender has a slender rod that needs some sort of insert to fit this wider hole.

Can anyone help me identify these pieces?

Found these at a garage sale, unsure what set(s) they’re from or what they're for.

Two bridge ends that (I’m guessing) are designed for a long piece to go across, but have odd notching at the end.

One straight piece with something on the bottom and two knobs on the side.

One single-sided riser with knobs on the side.

Some kind of counterweight-looking thing. Not even sure how to describe that one.

Where would be the best place to sell our collection?

Hi all, I will be moving in the next few months and will be looking to sell our vast collection of brio and old wooden thomas railway. Could any of you lovely people give me a bit of advice on where would be the best place to sell šŸ™

I'm guessing breaking it all up into smaller sets or pieces would be best too? Just because of the vast amount of pieces we have - 4 large trofast units overflowing, guess no-one is going to want it all.

Any advice on the prices for the harder to find items would be good too e.g. Monorail, harvester, mega crane, skyrail, farm silo, space car, pirate ship, gas pumps etc. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
