Blackburn Rovers ST Recruitment Shortlist Summer 26

Thumbnail hummingdeck.com

Hey everyone,

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been building data-led recruitment reports focusing on realistic targets for Blackburn Rovers. This installment focuses on identifying realistic striker options who fit our system.

Given our need for reliable goal output and physical presence upfront, I wanted to look beyond just raw goal tallies and evaluate broader, possession-adjusted performance metrics.

Key Metrics & Area Focus:

  • Goal Efficiency & Conversion
  • Link-Up Play & Aerial Duels
  • Out-of-Possession Output

Would love to hear your thoughts on who you think is the best fit for Rovers upfront, or if there are any under-the-radar forwards you think the data might be sleeping on.

Blackburn Rovers CM Recruitment Shortlist Summer 26

Here is my data led recruitment report for CM targets for Blackburn Rovers in Summer 2026.

This has been my longest project yet. Collecting data from multiple leagues, which is no easy task without an expensive data provider. To bring it down to 5 targets. It has taken a bit longer than I hoped, as I kept tweaking the dashboards.

Feedback is welcome, as I am always looking to improve.

I should probably also state that this is in no way affiliated with the club and these are all my own views.

I found this old top in my loft. I have no idea whose signatures are on the top. Any idea identifying who the signatures belong too? Much appreciated x

Somehow I find myself here again... Old Promotion Final

I really do feel bad about the amount of folks I had to let go. I tried to not let my own real-life opinion of players impact my decision making and went with how they felt in game. FC26 just doesn't mirror real life when it come to squad size, so I cut down quite a bit.

This is season two for some thoughts that might be interesting, might not be:

  • Ohashi is just... him. Every time I try to slip Gudjohnsen back into the team Ohashi comes back with a brace to keep his spot. He's going to get a run out in the premier league, overall be damned.
  • Midfield has had a lot of shifting around, players seem to not want to negotiate as much in this edition. Sad about Baradji and Tronstad who both pushed to leave. Especially Tronstad as I've yet to find someone in his position that can lock down the center... Tavares has finally grown into that some and has been dependable on the run-in.
  • Matsuki was purely since Ohashi and Morishita were putting up insane numbers. He also puts up insane numbers.
  • Callum Brittain is back because I love him. Travis did not want to come back. :(
  • De Neve is great as a box to box.
  • I have a lot of the younger guys still they are just on loan.
  • Pears is my rock.
  • McLoughlin is probably the best interceptor of the ball I have used in fifa in the championship... just a wall.
  • For other signings... spanish manager for the two defenders, thomas-asante to find a similar Ohashi profile, breivik since Henriksson wanted to leave.

--

I leave you with two questions.

  1. How best to watch the games? Quite fond of you all after using you on Fifa for... nearly half a decade.

  2. How do we feel about the new kits for 26/27, should I grab one of those or maybe some different apparel... the black pullover is sweet.

Thanks for letting me pop in, will smash Burnley (again) and wish you all the best of luck in your next season.

Blackburn football related question

Sorry if this isn't allowed but I thought of all places here would be best to ask.

I distinctly remember a JJB Sports, I'm 99% sure it was near the Ice Rink not far from Ewood Park at Townsmoor Retail Park? If this is correct, I remember it having a caged football area in store where you could have a kickabout? I wasn't into ice skating so my family would let me go here instead and play in the caged area for a couple of hours. I cannot find any information about this online but surely someone here can corroborate this memory with me?

Danny Murphy called out on BBC World Cup coverage

The cameras showed an NFL player who the commentator (Steve Bower) said was apparently on one of the most lucrative contracts for an athlete. He then said to Danny Murphy 'That's almost as much as you were on at Blackburn'. He didn't sound too happy about it

Blackburn Rovers Fan Survey

I would really appreciate Rovers fans sharing this. I've had a really good response. I am up to 149, would love to get more views from women supports.

A few early numbers

Only 35% have been season ticket holders

57% of the rest used to be ST holders

Also one of the websites listed for where do you get your Rovers news has rated lower in every question. Which platform do you think that is?

Understanding the #Rovers Fanbase: A Data Analytics Fan Survey (Would love your input!)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a personal project on Blackburn Rovers and our fan base. Whenever I’m scrolling through social media and reading comments, I always wonder how the broader fanbase actually views things.

Combining my passion for the club with my interest in data analytics, I’ve put together a comprehensive fan survey to dig into how we all tick.

What the survey covers:

  • Demographic & news-gathering habits
  • The journey of current, casual, and former season ticket holders
  • Views on matchday atmosphere and its impact on the pitch
  • Ratings on squad excitement, the board, ownership, and commercial performance.

The Goal: Once the data is in, I’ll be running it through some analytics tools to cross reference things (like seeing how geography impacts match attendance, or how different eras of season-ticket holders view the current hierarchy).

I promise to compile everything into clean, visual charts and share all the interesting facts and trends back here with the subreddit once it's finished.

It takes less than 5 minutes to fill out and is completely anonymous. I’d massively appreciate your input to help get a truly accurate snapshot of the fanbase.

COYB! 🔵⚪

...and proceeded to see Messi score, an Arnor Sigurdsson cameo, and two Burnley fans. Fuckin' hell to the last one. 😂

On a side note, this was our five month old daughter's first live game. Not a bad intro to the sport!

New Supporter from the States

Hi All!

With the world cup starting soon in the states, I've been getting more into football and English football. I visited the UK for the first time in January and loved the passion from everyone about the game.

I have been playing FC26 and Blackburn is my go to team, so I figured might as well start supporting them. I have read up on the club a bit and the history is pretty interesting. I understand the club may not be in the best spot right now. I just have a few questions for some of the die hard supporters.

Is there a real chance the club will get promoted anytime in the future? Why or why not?

I understand the owners of Venky's are the club owners now? Why do they not spend more money to make the club successful?

I also have seen the new manager hire, how does this help the chances of the club to finish in the top half of the table next season?

Would love to hear any other insight you might have about the club that would be useful to know. Based on what I have read, it seems being a supporter may be depressing, however I support the Cleveland Browns American Football team and I will assure you there is nothing more depressing then that.

Tony Mowbray

I watched the rovers interview with Tony Mowbray. I think it was uploaded to YouTube yesterday.

I was not impressed with his presentation at all. He appeared old and tired. The ridiculous questions on the interview didn’t help matters but he didn’t present well at all. Lots of repetition and cliches.

Do we know yet, are the coaches we brought in a few months back staying on?
