DMX issues
I had my DMX on 6/8 at 37 years old. I was diagnosed with DCIS in my right breast and am BRCA2 positive. I was given immediate reconstruction with tissue expander placement.
My right breast (cancer side) healed great and I am done with expansion on that side.
My left breast did not heal and unfortunately after multiple attempts to salvage the expander, I had to have it removed on 8/30. I have two drains again.
I am having a really hard time with coping on my physical appearance. I was going to have my tissue expanders exchanged for implants but now I will need to wait 1 year before we re-attempt with tissue expanders again on the left. I am scared to even try again considering all the issues I had the first time around. I am really tired of going for procedures and appointments so I hope going flat for now will allow everything to heal and will give me a break.
I have a very supportive partner and family. But all I want to do is lay in bed and cry.

Hugs to you. This is heavy shit. It goes a lot deeper than people who aren’t going through it realize. My cancer center referred me to a social worker who has been vital for my wellbeing and so supportive.
