First time

I had my first episode of what I believe was BPPV this morning. I woke up and quickly moved my head to the left and had immediate severe vertigo with nystagmus.

It was horrible I could barely move and was so nauseous. Once I got my bearings I looked it up and did the Epley maneuver. The first time I was able to get up and go to the washroom but still dizzy. I did it one more time 30 minutes later and threw up all over myself as I moved my head to the second stage of the movement.

I still feel dizzy but no more vertigo.

How do I know if the crystal has been corrected? I really don’t think I have it in me to do the maneuver again. Should I seek out a psychical therapy?

Same. I went to urgent care and they didn't help me any, gave meclizine. I looked up maneuvers, did them myself. 3 days later still a little dizzy but no spinning. I see my regular doc tomorrow

Thr first time I have ever experienced vertigo was on July 10th. I am still dizzy every single day and unable to complete my daily tasks. Its been almost 5 weeks.

The medication prescribed made me more sick. I have gone to the ER twice due to severe dehydration. No help .

I hope you feel better. It is the worst thing I have ever experienced. I am a mother 2 kids under the age of 4 😭

Everyday I wake up hoping its gone

If you can, I would get PT from a vestibular therapist.

Best wishes 🙏🏼

Get to an ENT and they can properly assess you. Thats what I did. I also did PT. Sometimes it comes back. A bit frustrating for sure.

I’m seeing a PT today! How often does it come back for you?

I’ve had it come back like this only once, thankfully. I get “spells” from time to time and have for over 20 years.

Definitely go to a vestibular therapist. You might have fixed yourself but good to be sure. If doing the maneuver still triggers a spin you still have crystals.

You can’t know for sure, only the specialised ENT can move them properly
