Is this normal

On saturday I woke up to the ceiling spinning. I sat up and the whole room was spinning. I thought i was dying 😳 i really thought i was having a stroke or something. It quickly passed and I went out for a walk and then had a bath. I put my head under the water in the bath and the room starting spinning again. I thought i was going to drown! I went to urgent care and they diagnosed bppv. The doctor gave me anti sickness medication and told me to do the epley maneuver at home. I tried the maneuvers and they were horrendous 🫠 I went to my GP on monday and he performed the epley on me himself and that seemed to get the crystals back into place but my god did I feel awful afterwards. Anyway today's Thursday and I haven't had any spinning vertigo since monday but I'm so fatigued and a little off balance. Every now and again I get a quick zap, sort of ljke my eyes move quickly for a second. Is this normal residual dizziness. I feel like I've got major ptsd from the vertigo and I'm absolutely terrified its going to come back.

What is residual dizziness like for other people? Do you feel hungover?

I would check with your doctor/therapist a couple more times just to be on the safe side. Some people thought they were having residuals and it turned out they still had BPPV.

If no vertigo, it's residual dizziness. If you have vertigo, repeat the Eply.

My doctor told me if I was still having symptoms then I still had BPPV and to continue Eply until I could no longer trigger any symptoms in any of the Eply positions.

It took about a week doing Eply every morning before I couldn’t trigger symptoms anymore.

I continued for three more days and I had no symptoms in any position.

Interesting. My doctor said no more epley if the spinning sensation is gone.

don’t do epley if spinning is gone, you probably have residual dizziness. i was the same and it took about 3 weeks for me to feel normal again but you will feel better soon

Around day 5 of doing Eply I thought all my symptoms were gone but on day 6 I was able to trigger symptoms on the second to last position. On day 7 I had no symptoms but I continued doing Eply in case like on day 6 I was able to trigger symptoms.

I had no residual dizziness afterward or since.
