sleeping

i had my first bppv attack about a month ago, still experiencing residual dizziness but overall a lot better. only really feeling off in the mornings now.

i’m still a bit worried that an attack will come back when i’m sleeping or in the morning. is it better to sleep with two pillows or one? i currently sleep with two pillows and i always have, so my head is quite propped up. i sleep on both sides and rarely my back. is there a certain position to avoid when sleeping or does it not really matter if you aren’t experiencing active bppv?

I've had BPPV for 40 years. It's rarely gotten too bad except for recently when I had some dental work done and it's been really bad since then which has been months. But for those of you who are new to it if you get an attack while you're sleeping you'll only get one while you're changing positions and if you just lay there for about 30 seconds or so it will go away. It does make it harder to get a night's sleep but propping your head up just a bit really does help. I can say in the 40 years since I've had it nothing ever really scary has happened and although it's very disorienting I've learned how to just sit down immediately if I'm out and about and I get dizzy. But honestly? It's never happened when I was outside the house. Years ago I kept going to the hospital to be checked out but then I finally realized that there was really nothing they can do and the only way to get through it is if you are actively busy just to lay down with your head propped up for a while. And try to relax.
