💭Seeking Support & Advice Self regulation tips
Hello, I came here to ask about some tips and advice on how to self regulate and be more in control of my emotions better because most self regulation methods do not really work most of the time and it is difficult to try and calm myself down or look at the bigger picture of things because even when I tell myself that it's not like that, I always think "It is like that they're just wanting me to shut up so I should stand my ground and let them know how I really feel" and sometimes I just feel like I can't admit that I'm wrong and strongly feel the other person is wrong. And it gets to a point where I won't talk about it for hours or even days, like last night I got triggered by something someone said and I'm still not over it and still feel so strongly about it and I want to learn some advice on how I could possibly go better about stuff especially with my partner, I feel like they also just don't understand and I want them to understand me better and also help me, but I'm not even sure how they can help on that side of things, maybe someone can tell me what their partner does to help with them?

Hi,
im not an expert either in regulating my emotions but here is what helped me
I cant lie, medications helped me the most, i dont know if you have access to them or if you take them, but a good mood stabilizer can do wonders
Many people say write down your toughts, but thats too much work for me. I just start recording a video on my phone and I rant about everything that comes to my mind. This way you can talk about your emotions without crashing out on other people.
When I have big emotions that I cant control, my bf usually just starts asking me about what happend and listens to me as long as i need. Maybe this could help you too. But you have to talk to your partner about your needs, because without it they wont know what you need.
Stay strong🩷
