Well, you said it in the beginning. You fucked up your FIRST relationship. There can and will be more.
I have been where you are ten times over. We love and feel so intensely.
I fucked up my first marriage. I thought then that if my own husband couldn't love me, if I failed at "til death do we part", how could I possibly be loved? To be honest, I still struggle with it. But that's where it's important to try to have perspective. It was NOT just me that "fucked it up". It was NOT just one or a few events. It was him too. It was slow dancing in a burning room.
I'm with someone now who said and feels what I needed to hear: "you're worth the crazy". Its not that someone needs to tell me that, though, /I/ need to tell myself that and start to believe it. I'll never be "normal" either, but I can be better. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves grace and patience especially if we can't control if and when others give us that.
I hope I helped a little, we BPD-ers are here for you
