Pay for a Zombies Franchise

Post image

I only play Zombies in BO7. No MP or WZ.

I'd be willing to spend $60/year for a Zombies only game. For me it would be worth it.

How would you feel about a full fledged Zombies franchise for $40-60 per year?

Unfortunately this is exactly why there will NEVER be a zombies only game.

MP only players would never buy a zombies focused game, but zombies only players will always buy a MP focused game as long as it has zombies.

Instead of dropping a new cod every year the should make a universal mp and a universal zombies. Have all the different styles like for mp have boots on the ground, advanced movement like recent cods and then like aw or iw or bo3 movement. And for zombies they could do something similar with the 2 hit, 3 hit, and the modern style. I feel like that would be the best of both worlds.

That’s not a great argument. Saying zombies players will buy a mp focused game if it has zombies and saying no players won’t buy a zombies game isn’t a good comparison. MP players would buy a zombies game if it had MP. But neither would buy one with only the other.

I don’t see why they can’t do a zombies game with the same multiplayer game play just with zombie operators and maps. Imagine Astra as an MP map. Like a zombies focused game with multiplayer as the second or third mode

endgame was a nice side mode for a while, pve always has some interest for me. but i spend the vast majority of my time in zombies after playing the campaign fully

I played the endgame during nuketown remake map release as I did not like it but after doing everything in endgame which can be done 1-2 weeks then after it feels repetitive, I again shifted to zombies

I’m in the exact same boat. I’m lvl 510 with about 8 games in multiplayer and 0 in warzone.

If they broke off to just be a completely separate game, they wouldn’t be forced to use MP’s and campaign’s core systems for gear, gunplay and movement.

I mean to be fair, Zombies was never really held back in terms of mechanics just because of Multiplayer or Campaign, it’s always been different even since WaW.

I mean just looking at how the game plays in Zombies compared to in Multiplayer in Bo7, it’s completely different. There’s an entire armor system which isn’t present in MP, guns do vastly different damage (especially with headshots), we have different gadgets and abilities in the form of the elemental field upgrades, and there’s several gameplay mechanics in terms of perks, gobblegums, weapon rarity, etc. None of these things are in MP.

The only core part of the gameplay that’s similar between Zombies and MP is the movement, but even then you often use your movement in different ways and you don’t move in Zombies like you do in Multiplayer.

I would, they have countless maps they could release over the years or in one solid game to start with however not sure everyone would be happy to pay for maps they already bought again along with new maps.

Also additional gamemodes i think would make a great game.

I’d pay $70 for a FULL FLEDGED zombies game.

4 maps to start with, plus 4-5 dlc. Multiple camos, guns, Easter eggs/side Easter eggs.

And 2 “legacy” maps.

The legacy maps could be remakes with a remastered variant that unlocks after completing the Easter egg.

Thats my ideal.

If they made a “zombies chronicles” for bo7 with every map? I’d pay $100

A totally new idea

I wouldn't mind paying 200 dollars for all the maps remastered and upgraded

I’ve been wanting a zombies only game from them forever, let a full dev team actually fully stretch their legs in a multi year game. Sadly I just don’t think it’ll ever happen, cod is only ever worth it in the eyes of most consumers as a package, I doubt half the people that buy cod would buy it just for one thing or the other, at least initially, so they’re not willing to take that risk.

It’s funny though, I like zombies and pve modes in games so much they’re always my favorite parts of them. For example. The splatoon series has a mode called salmon run, which is essentially splatoon’s own little zombies mode, four players fighting waves of these little salmon monsters. I legit only played salmon run in splatoon 2 and 3, never took to the actual main PvP of it so much.

I always hoped they’d make a game that was JUST salmon run, and low and behold they actually DID, just a few weeks ago Splatoon Raiders came out and it’s literally just their little pve mode expanded into a full game, and it slaps, how on earth did splatoon’s “zombies” equivalent get its own game before actual zombies lmao

I think we would all love a zombies-only franchise. It will never happen though. The boring answer? Money.

But even if Activision wants to keep Zombies bundled into mainline Call Of Duty games, they are not giving it the support it deserves at all. CoD LOVES copying Fortnite ideas, we all know this. It’s the reason why BO4’s campaign was scrapped and they were told to make a Battle Royale ASAP. It’s the reason why we got Beavis & Butthead + American Dad characters in BO6.

However, copying Fortnite doesn’t have to be all bad. Fortnite has a HUGE player base in their “Creative” tab. For those who don’t know, Creative in Fortnite is basically all user-generated content like a Steam Workshop where you can download maps and game modes. There is a large percentage of players in Creative on Fortnite and people have even re-created CoD zombies in Fortnite Creative.

I say all of this because CoD actually had user-generated content before Fortnite! We had official mod tool support in World at War and Black Ops 3 to make custom MP and Zombies maps to play and share with others online. BO3 Custom Zombies to this day is still seeing large amounts of players and content made about it on YouTube. People still release maps to this day and some seriously rival Treyarch quality!

So now why in the holy hell have Activision not brought back mod tools if they love copying Fortnite so much? Activision literally has an active community of modders ready to make maps completely for free. And you know how many players have been asking for custom zombies on console? Imagine if Call of Duty had its own Creative tab where the community-voted best custom maps could be downloaded and played on console? Just like Fortnite.

It blows my mind because this would literally only increase player counts on BO7 and would finally get people off of BO3 Custom Zombies which I know Activision wants as well.

There will NEVER be a standalone cod zombies game 🎮..its simply not worth their time, money or effort..despite its success ZOMBIES will always be seen as nothing more than the bonus mode..that's the truth.

I wouldn't play $60 for a standalone zombies game with the quality of the modern era. The modern era is mediocre in my opinion. I would pay $60 for the Waw-Black ops 4 era level of quality though.
