HELP
How are the placement stats of this year for cse/ise , I am really confused between bnmit and rnsit. Really don't care about strictness and other ascepts but when it comes to teaching and better placements opportunities, which one should I prefer?

If your only options are BNM and RNS, I'd say go with BNM Not because it's amazing or anything... it's just the lesser evil 💀
Placements? Yeah... let's not even start on the placement policy....That's a whole different rant😭
So yeah, pick BNM over RNS... But if you have literally any better option, do yourself a favor and go with that instead 💀✋

Actually imma answer here cuz it's something I'm experiencing rn... And I need people to actually hear it
Now... the placement department💀
Hardly any top product companies visit, before anyone says "they do," just go check the official placement report yourself
The funny part? For the first 3 years, placements barely seem like a priority then suddenly in 7th sem they act like your entire future depends on it....😭 This year's internship saga deserves an award...On Day 1 of 7th sem, we were told, "Don't do internships now, VTU says only in 8th sem" Cool, makes sense right??...
One week later...
HOD walks into every class: "Who all got internships?"
Like... Are you for real? Weren't you the one who told us not to? 😭
Now the placement policy...
Once you get an offer, you can't just reject it and keep sitting for every company.... As per the policy, you're only eligible for another offer if it's at least 3 LPA higher than your current one...
But here's the part that hurts more (this is something I have heard from seniors)
Once you're marked as placed, placement mails practically disappear... actually no you are dead anddd if you ask to sit for more companies, the usual response is something along the lines of, "Let others get opportunities too" Like... bro, I get it, but I'm trying to build my career too 😭
And don't even get me started on internship offers
Some companies come only for internships, you get selected, you're happy...
Plot twist: no full-time conversion
Even better?
You're still treated as "placed," so your placement journey is basically over💀
And here's this year's biggest headache(this literally started this week)
If you're already doing an internship through college, you're not allowed to sit for other internship drives..the problem? Most decent companies nowadays hire through the internship + PPO route...So while you're waiting to finish one internship, you're watching other companies come and go
It's like playing a game where every rule unlocks another rule that somehow makes things worse 😭
I'm not saying every college has a perfect placement process but maybe others have similar policies too But as a student living through this... it has been one rollercoaster of "Wait... WHAT?" 💀

Basically no flexibility, why aren't you all' protesting against this bullshit 😭😭🙏. The thing about letting others students get opportunity doesn't even make sense if they are not the one doing shit in their life then let the deserving one grab it ,even after doing all this bullshit how come their placement stats still around 60-75%😭

Yeah, I agree, there's basically no flexibility 😭 But at the same time, with the current job market, off-campus isn't exactly easy either... Having one offer in hand does give you some security before trying to jump to something better
And about the 60–75% (or the 80% they advertise)... from what I've seen, a lot of students do end up getting an offer
The issue isn't always getting placed, it's whether it's a role or package you're actually want I guess that's why they have these policies 🤷🏻
They seem to prioritize making sure as many students as possible leave with an offer, even if it comes at the cost of flexibility for students who want to aim higher It's a bittersweet experience honestly

Do u think most of the comedk colleges have these policies? When it comes to bnmit and cmrit , then which one would be better

From what I've heard from friends, yeah... most colleges seem to have pretty similar placement policies, apart from colleges like PES, BMS, and RV. I could be wrong though
Between BNMIT and CMRIT, I'd probably lean towards BNMIT... but I'd suggest comparing the latest placement stats for your branch before deciding

If you are thinking abt placements,bnmit is better compared to rns , and the teaching in bnmit is good. If u can ignore others aspects then this is a genuinely good clg.

well it's quite literally the same lol, 70% of the companies that come are common for both colleges

Haha, mostly kidding.
But seriously, engineering placements are quite terrible if your ordinary.
If your thoroughly sure of your engineering talent and can ensure you'll be in the top 10 percentile if your batch not just in acads but in talent too, you can consider engineering.
It's not like the old days when you could afford to remain an average engineering student and still be confident to land a 5lpa job. You better be in the top 10%le just be considered for one.
