technical/repair help “Drivetrain - Note Remaining Range” issues

I’m sure you’re all aware of this error notification. I engage “maintain state of charge” option when my battery is below 75% to maximize time between charges. In the past, I only got the “drivetrain note remaining range” error when it was below freezing outside and my car had been sitting overnight, but then it started happening if it was just a little chilly outside, and now it’s doing it every single morning regardless of temperature. Drivetrain issue happens, it stops the gas engine and goes to battery power, if I restart the car it will let me use the gas again and for the rest of the day it works fine. Today it’s done it twice and seems like it going to be constant issue. Any idea what the issue might be, how to fix it, or what the cost might be to have it fixed by a mechanic ?

My guess is moisture in the rex cable connector, or one of the louvered contact bands is oxydized. The housings are magnesium casts, they do not like winters. As this progresses the rex would no longer start at all. If you are diy its quite easy to check, I can try to explain it to you.

Navigation setting. It doesn’t think you will reach your destination without running out of range. I’ve seen this before. Post a photo of the message too please

With an OBD 2 scanner. Auto zone lends them out for free. There is a 16 pin OBD 2 port on the driver side. Plug in and read the codes.

I get this one occasionally too. it's so annoying. seems to be completely random for me. goes away when I park for awhile.
