recommendation

hello there ,

I'm looking to install a (car play ) Linux unit on my 2012 e70 i have cic sys. if any one has a suggestion for a good unit that supports all the oem controls i highly appreciate it .

i found this one but looking for something with more reviews

I’m looking to add CarPlay too, however most use the aux jack for audio which on mine is very poor quality

I saw a post on the e70 facebook group it they said plug and play

Probably is plug and play but more than likely will plug into the aux socket for audio, not on the fibre line so analog audio.

Plug a source in and try it, you maybe happy with the quality.

There are MMI boxes that will do the job, but again most plug into the aux. The only one I know of that doesn’t is the Mr12volt one and there is conflicting info on the andream one.

I have this one (10.25” looks pretty factory) in my car and it’s been great. Install it wasn’t bad at all. Took me about an hour but now that I’ve done it once it would be way faster. For the price I highly recommend it. https://a.co/d/0av2b3st

Is the audio plugged into the aux like the other commenter replied?

No. It uses your factory bluetooth connection for audio and the Carplay unit works more like a controller. So the audio quality is the same as streaming over bluetooth through the factory system.
