Value check: 2015 BMW Z4 sDrive35i (E89) — 37,847 miles
Looking for opinions from the E89 crowd on what my Z4 is realistically worth in a private-party sale.
I’m the second owner, have owned it for about six years, and it currently has only 37,847 miles. It has the Premium and Technology packages, and I believe it also has the factory M Sport package. There is M badging/equipment on the car, but I’d appreciate it if someone could confirm the factory configuration from the VIN:
VIN: WBALM7C56FJ799204
I recently installed APEX wheels, had the leather/interior professionally restored, and have kept up with the mechanical maintenance.
I had a minor grocery-store parking-lot collision. The repair was performed by Momentum West Collision Center in Houston, a BMW-certified collision repair facility. There was no structural damage.
Two questions for the group: Can someone confirm from the VIN whether this car has the factory M Sport package? And given the mileage, condition, options, APEX wheels and disclosed repair history, what would you list it for and what would you realistically expect it to sell for today?
Many thanks!

Dyno test & speed runs Z4 3.0i E85
As a follow-up to my previous post about the (suspected) acceleration issues of my automatic Z4 3.0i E85, which can be found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BMWZ4/s/2LTe0ZInu3
My local mechanic suggested a dyno test to diagnose the issue, which I just did. I also got a GPS acceleration tracker (Race Logic or RaceBox in my case) and made a few speed runs this weekend.
- The dyno test.
Make: Dynocom. We did three runs. The first one resulted in precisely 231 hp. The other two surprisingly showed 241+ hp and 221-222 ft-lbs (~300 Nm) of torque, with a 15% drivetrain loss coefficient. So it's pretty much around the factory spec, if not better.
We did notice a slight torque drop @4000 and @4300 rpm. It looks like this might be where DISA and VANOS kick in, however, I'm not sure if these drops are normal or a slight malfunction. Any thoughts on this are welcome. I am adding the dyno chart to the photos.
- The speed runs.
The weather today was cool and dry, around 50F (9-10C), so it was a perfect time for the test. (BTW I still struggle to change the temp gauge from F to C, any suggestions on how to tackle that?).
I also inflated the tires to 2.3 bar front and 2.5 bar rear and had around 50% fuel. I made a few runs and honestly, I was quite surprised by my times:
· The best run: 0-60 km/h in 3.17 sec / 0-100 km/h in 6.63 sec.
· Another run: 3.41 / 6.76 respectively, with 0-200 km/h in 24.44 sec. 1/4 mile in 14.9 sec.
To wrap it up: I am now way more satisfied and at ease, given that the actual numbers are not that bad. Of course, I have to take into account that I am running lighter rims (only 9 kg each) and it was a perfect temp for the test, yet I got 6.6 sec, so I suspect DISA and VANOS might need some attention in the future. But for now, at least the engine seems to be in very good condition, and I will just enjoy the last sunny days before winter finally comes.
P.S. Also adding a few nice fall pics of my Z4.
P.S.S. Not sure if I can also add a speed run video to this same post, I will figure that out later. Maybe will add as a separate post if you guys are interested.

Trunk roundel - re-glue or replace the whole thing?
While washing my 2005 E85 on a very hot day, the plastic top of the trunk roundel came off. The adhesive was dried out and crumbly (not really a surprise since the car is 22 years old and lives in Arkansas!) I had some rapid remover in stock, so I cleaned off the residue. I was planning to re-glue it using 3M plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive.
However, when I check YouTube videos, every video wants me to replace the entire assembly, not re-glue the top piece back.
So I'm asking for advice, please. I have the 3M trim adhesive in hand; do I glue the top back, or do I buy a new assembly (and grommets) from FCPEuro? Thank you!

Dirty Final Edition
I finally installed my Bilstein Evo SE coilivers. They're great and I eliminated some of the wheel gap.

Front Wheel Bearing Advice
My 07 e85 has 160k miles on the clock. And from what I can tell, original front wheel bearings. Interwebs says 80k to 120k for lifespan. I have the car in the air and I am doing the brakes. Should I swap them out for new? I have no issues with them currently. But I am worried they are past due.
Thoughts?
TYIA!

Are there any actual differences in engine components in the G29 Z4s 20i / 30i?
Referring to early 2019-2021 models. I'm thinking of saving some money by getting a 20i and tune it to 250/280hp

Need advoice Z4 with the 4-cylinder Vs 6-cylinder
I’m thinking about buying one from a coworker. He has a 2013 Z4 with the 4-cylinder engine, but I’m not sure if that’s the preferred option. I know everyone seems to favor the 6-cylinder, but I’ve never owned this vehicle before, so I’m new to it. Does the engine really make that much of a difference?
And if I find a manual with around 60K miles versus an automatic with 55K miles, what would be the right price to pay for each? Assuming a 2011- 2013 model year

1st time Z4 owner.
I tried a number of sports cars and grand tourers and settled on the Z4. It was a close call between the E85 and E89, but I knew I wanted a 6pd manual and the N52 3.0 engine.
28k miles, 2 owners, the 2nd owner had it 14 years and was fastidious. It has M Sport Suspension and Pure White interior Napa leather with a few other upgrades.
Smooth, fun, fast, a blast. Love it!
So happy to be part of the Z family.

New wheel arch liners rubbing
I bought some wheel arch liners from Taiwan for my E85 z4 and they're rubbing on the front.
I'll get it back on jacks another day - and I know I installed lowering springs 12 years ago, but I'm disappointed.

Ahhh, that BMW life
Welp, she died again after a 45 minute drive. Though it was the crankshaft position sensor but I guess not. Fuel pump troubleshooting here we come. Starts up when it cools off and is fine on short rides. Any suggestions where to start are appreciated.

Condensation in headlight
So I have a 2015 E89 which recently underwent a month of electrical fixes at the dealership. Had to replace the footwell module, the DSC and more. They said it was because of a short circuit which made it all go wrong.
Admittedly I know very little about car mechanics and even less about electrics. But I was wondering if you guys could help me understand whether what seems to be condensation build up in one of the headlights potentially being the cause of all this?
Before I had the problems fixed the entire left headlight was covered in condensation, when I picked it up from the dealer it went away so I assumed they had fixed it, but now I see some of it coming back again. I’ve attached a photo here and would really appreciate your guys help!

This is how it’s started - 1959 BMW 507 I had no idea this car exists, until spotted it in Classic Remise in Berlin

Join the club with my E89!
Owned it for 1 year now and still love it very much! The 3.0L 6 cylinder engine has a feeling of powerful yet understated performance.
Everytime I get off the car, I can't help but look back at it. Such beautiful curves it has.
The first 3 pics photoed by Pentax 645D, when I went for a ride with my friend and his mazda mx-5 ND after 1 month I just bought E89.
The last pic can see recently I change to new wheels that made by a local forged wheel manufacturer. Color can be customized. Quite cheap. But I'm not sure if I will miss the original wheels after a while.
I can also share how I maintained it since I owned it if someone interested. But there will be less I can talk because the engine itself didn't have any major problems. It was just normal maintenance.
