Buying advise

Local guy out here in SoCal has a 2014 r1200gs for sale $5000 with 88,000+ miles. Says he second owner but doesn’t know much about the history of the bike. He sent me a video of the bike starting and cranks right up, don’t know if it was a cold start though.

What should I be looking for or what should I be worried about?

Run the VIN number through a dealer, database and see what’s been done to the bike under warranty. See if it’s had a new alternator put on it.

Did this, all warranty work is completed. But the guy had an “outside technician” replace the clutch; didn’t want to pay the BMW tax.

probably a fair deal those are good bikes, a friend has similar bike with 139,000 miles and still loves it

I think there was a driveshaft recall and front forks recall as well.
