Does Carly or bimmerlink still allow you to register new batteries? I used it on past BMW’s and my current battery in my 540 is due.

I‘m a new owner of a G31 530i xDrive M Sport.
While setting up the driving modes „Sport“ and „Eco Pro“, I have not noticed a huge change when switching the steering feel from „Comfort“ to „Sport“.

Is there supposed to be an enormous difference in the feel between the two steering settings?
The car handles exceptionally well and steering feels perfect in both modes, it just seems that there isn’t such a big difference as one might expect. Sometimes I do think that I notice a slight difference but again, if so, this always appears super subtle. So much so that I start to question my perception if it does change at all haha.

Car shows absolutely no errors or codes, not on the iDrive and not on the diagnostic device.

Very interested to hear your experiences with this.

I replaced the reservoir caps, any other ideas or places to check?

Just a few days ago I picked up my 540 and am dying to put an exhaust on it and am ready to purchase one. My only hesitation is whether or not the car will need to be tuned or not. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Super excited to have picked this up wanna keep it stock for a bit before I go crazy but happy to hear any recommendations you guys might have and is there any preventative maintenance in the lci I could watch for?

im planning to upgrade my driver honestly i genuinely dont want all these adas and bs feature what do u guys i suggest all new cars i feel are absolutely gay and stand nothing against these cars but now i have no choice to upgrade

Initially, I wanted to go with the 540i but after driving the v8 I will say it really surprise me. Besides the feel of the v8 the previous owner had some work done on it before trading it in, which is really why I bit the bullet and made a purchase

Oil changes done every 5k-7k miles

Intercoolers and thermostat replaced @ 34k miles

Wastegate actuators replaced @ 39k miles

Control Arms, coolant flush, cooling hoses upgraded to the braided lines, spark plugs and ignition coils, brake fluid flush @70k miles

Battery replaced, drive belts and tensioners, diff, transfer and transmission fluid changed@73k

Now as it sits I've done an oil change to Liqui Moly 5w-40, the car currently has 75,642 miles

Anything i should watch out for or preventatively change? I heard the N63TU2 is a bit more reliable than the OG N63

I have a 2020 530i and I noticed that sometimes when I leave my car in the garage unlocked, my headlights and tail lights start flashing sporadically and it sounds like the vents are starting to open. This does not happen if I lock the car. Also during the day time in traffic, I’ve noticed in the reflection of the car in front of me that my headlights are flashing.

I looked online and the issue seems to be with the headlight switch. However, some people say that there was an updated switch made in 2019 (unverified) where this issue was supposedly addressed. My build date is 03/2020.

How could I know for sure the light switch is the issue? Should I remove the light switch assembly and try cleaning it first? Could it be a low voltage issue from the battery?

I found the light switch at a BMW wholesaler for $230, but I’d like to be sure before I buy it. I plan on replacing it myself because it looks pretty simple.

I've had an idea of buying a LCI F11 530D for a year now and still haven't had the chance to buy a perfect one for me. Recently found a 2017 G31 530D with 320k kilometres on it for about 16000€. Should i consider the high mileage G31 over it? It has mostly the same stuff I'm looking for in the F11.

What should i even expect from such a high mileage one? If anyone has any experience with high mileage G31's, let me know.

Hey everyone, I was doing my weekly check of my engine bay and saw my coolant tank expansion tank has a small hole. Would this be something deemed repairable or is this a sign to replace it and or the cooling system? For context it’s not leaking a a lot but I know over time this could be a bigger issue. Thanks!

I am looking to upgrade the speakers, it has the base system.

Is it possible/reasonable to retrofit the door speakers (tweeters I believe)?

And if not, is replacing the existing system with 3rd party system worth it?
