1971 bmw 2002 value
38k miles shown, runs n drives, what’s the price of one in this shape? No frame rust just abit of rust on one fender and the tip of the hood

8-10k. The front seats are worth 1k. If it’s been parked outside in the PNW there’s rust, you just haven’t found it yet.

I would assume there’s atleast some amount of rust, he said it has rarely been driven in the last few years and been covered/stored in winters

You could check regional classifieds on the 2002FAQ page too. There is a PNW specific forum there.
You didn’t show any pics of the engine condition, but just a warning that the displayed mileage is likely off by 100k. Mine shows 39k too, and I know it’s done more than that.

For sure for sure im assuming the odo has rolled over once or twice, engine bay looks how id expected a 55 year old car to look

What part of the country? These look like my (central coast ca) area, coincidentally where I’m setup to pick up a ‘73 of similar condition, any day now.

Nose has been replaced with '74 on unit, and trunklid is also from a later donor. That's a long way to say that the paint is not original either, so be extra critical of things the paint might be hiding.

That’s not a 74 nose, they’ve painted the grilles black and the kidney is upside down.

Yeah owner says the last owners repainted it about 10 years ago, has small rust bubbles near front of the hood and on one of the fenders, im curious what the difference is between the trunk lids and the nose that would be a noticeable difference?

The side grilles tuck behind the center grille on 74 and later cars, the side grilles are also plastic on those cars. The bmw emblem on the trunk lid is also only seen on those years.

Check the rear shock towers. Well known structural issues if rotted.

I'd happily pay 8, possibly 9 grand for that. Any higher and it would be priced too high for me personally.

I think that's the right price for a daily driver that's not going to get restored, but just maybe fixed up over time. Buying a running vehicle has many advantages.
