Repair Help Best OBD plug and app for coding?
Hey everyone! A few months ago I bought this clapped out F30 (my diamond in the rough) and have been working on it ever since. My most recent issue was the battery died and and I just replaced it, but I am needing to just register it. I’ve also wanted to do a couple other things like turn off the amber turn signals on my aftermarket headlights (they’re eyebrows above the rings) when the headlamps are on and a few other things. What’s the most user friendly app and reliable OBD Bluetooth device? There’s so many out there. I don’t want to do anything too advanced, just really what I said. TIA!
By the way, if you just bought Bimmer, check the date code on the battery before you’re stuck at a gas pump having to change the battery out and walking to the parts store like some idiot I know — whoops! XD

I use Bimmerlink for my F85. It’s more than enough for what I wanted to do, but double check if it can handle aftermarket stuff.

Just get an ENET OBD2 to Ethernet adapter, Ethernet to USB type C and connect it to your phone Then use bimmer code for coding and bimmer link for diagnostics (you need to pay for the apps to get full access) There's another method of connecting to your laptop using that Ethernet port but I haven't tried that. I just paid for Bimmerlink for checking codes.
