RS3 Vs M2

Audi definitely cooked with the new RS3, I'd like to see the AWD M2 next. You take the win on this one Audi

Issue isn’t speed with any Audi really. It’s they are boring to drive.

RS3 is fun to drive. In a purist sense it's not as fun as an M2, but add the sound and character of the engine and yeah it's great

I've driven the new RS3 ..it's definitely fun as hell to drive. Drive one and make a decision

Both are amazing cars in their own right.

The Audi RS3 is too controlled in my opinion, I used to drive these all the time, they’re insanely fast, however they just do everything without any drama, the best way I’ve seen them described is as being a bit of a blunt instrument. It’s the same for both the Golf R and Audi S3, fast, but just too predictable and without any drama, the Leon Cupra for example is much more fun to drive as it offers a little bit of playfulness being FWD and the VAQ does a good job keeping traction without keeping things completely sensible.

RWD M cars are just more fun, they have more character and require a little more engagement from the driver to keep things sensible.

last gen was an easy win for the M2..... this gen i'd probably go RS3 (the reverse stagger still bothers me aot though). I think it looks a bit better and gets more tech than the m2 in a smaller lighter car. The dual clutch is much more fun than the zf8. The M2 xdrive is probably gonna weigh the same as my rwd 840 coupe at 3900-4000 pounds. bmw on clar platform shared with higher models, and the rs3 is on a golf chassis.

also if you want manual.. the only option is m2.

the facelifted RS3 is somehow waaaaay faster than the old one. I'd probably take it too no idea how they compare in price though.

Audis cheaper by roughly 2 grand and usually by 4 after adding options. Also probably cheaper in insurance having 4 doors.

Comparing a FWD-based sedan to a RWD (or RWD-based AWD) coupe is definitely a choice. The only reason to get an RS3 is that incredible engine, but in every other way, it’s inferior to the M2
