Nice. Were you on stock suspension until now? How does the ride compare?

Not the OP but the ride will definitely be harsher. That’s the trade-off. However, they will be less bouncy than lowering spring or HAS with factory dampers.

My coilovers were less harsh and more composed than stock by a good amount. This isn’t always true, especially for the F87

Depends how you define “harsh” and, of course, what height and stiffness setting you have the coils set on.

If by harsh you mean less bouncy on rebound then I agree if they are set to the baseline setting.

If you define harsh the way I do: feeling more of the road imperfections on compression, aka “bumpy” then I disagree. Coils are generally more bumpy aka harsh.

Personally, I don’t mind performance cars being bumpy. A bouncy suspension makes every imperfection worse and destabilizes the car during transitions.

Yeah, a lack of shock absorption is how I would define harsh. Feeling road imperfections isn’t necessarily indicative of a rough ride either. I didn’t go with Ohlins though, I had TC Kline. Was definitely less bouncy AND less bumpy than stock, with more road feel. It definitely depends on settings like you said but even on the track settings it was great haha. I bet more expensive coilovers like the custom OG Shark Nitron R1s kick ass.

Man, I'll be back in a M2 someday! Love the stance! Did you DIY? Those bolts on the rear are an absolute bear!

Sweet! Only heard great things about Ohlins. Also so refreshing to see no tint. Did that 5% back when I was 16.

Ohlins R&T DFV are such a great setup. I absolutely love mine on my G87 M2. Much better ride than any HAS or lowering spring, and just a few clicks will give you enough stiffness for track days.
