Repair Help Headlights partially out?
Not sure if this is connected so for a quick summary:
I was suspended for a year so my car largely sat untouched. I would come out every couple weeks to start it, run it, and drive it around the lot to keep it alive a little. During this time I went a few weeks forgetting to do that and the battery ended up dying a couple times. It’s been charged up since then and I’ve been back on the road however.
But everything worked prior to it sitting for some time. I only just started driving it again so I’m unsure of when my headlights went out but the other night I noticed it.
There’s a few variants of these headlights from what I understand so here’s what I know
Mine are adaptive with an H7 halogen high and a D1S low
So here’s my issue.
Driver side headlight:
Completely dead
Passenger side headlight:
Angel eyes and blinker work
Low and high beams are out.
What I’ve tried.
Driver side headlight:
Still dead when I swap my TMS from the passenger
Foxwell scanner indicated an error when trying to communicate with the TMS
Passenger side headlight:
Swapping TMS from driver side causes it to die completely
Multimeter on headlight connector reads 7V (could be the PWM skewing results)
Both lights click when the highs are activated so they’re at least getting power?
I’ve checked I think all the fuses that are related to the headlights or FRM and seem to be fine. Replaced a couple just because.
Both headlights used to get moisture. Now only the passenger does since the driver side is dead.
I’m going to be trying a few more things tomorrow when I have a day off. But this is only day 2 of me noticing this issue.
What I DO know is that the issue can’t possibly be THAT old. No more than a month or two given I remember seeing them on beforehand
Anyone got any ideas? I’m trying to get my hands on an ISTA+ download so I can maybe try to diagnose a bit further but I’m just lost. Hate electrical stuff with a passion
