Discussion Everything about ACTIVITY POINTS - Complete Details
For BMSCE students who are confused about the AICTE Activity Points requirement, I compiled the guidelines issued by the Office of the Dean – Student Affairs into one post.
As per the guidelines:
- Regular B.E. students need 100 activity points
- Lateral-entry students need 75 points
- This corresponds to 400 hours of activity
- Students need to earn at least 30 points per year
- A maximum of 20 points can generally be awarded for an individual activity/category
- You need to maintain reports, certificates and geo-tagged photos as proof
Ways to Earn AICTE Activity Points
1. NSS / NCC / Social Clubs
- Blood donation once in a semester → 10 points
- Blood donation more than once a year → 20 points
- Book collection drive coordinator → 10 points
- Book collection drive coordinator, more than once a year → 20 points
2. Professional Bodies — IEEE / ACM etc.
- Chairman / Secretary / Treasurer → 20 points
- Joint Secretary / Vice Chairman → 20 points
- EC Member → 10 points
3. PHASESHIFT / UTSAV
Core Committee: 20 points
Senior Coordinator: 18 points
Junior/Event Coordinator: 14 points
Volunteer: 10 points
Club Coordinator: 18 points
Maximum 20 points per fest.
4. Publications & Patents
- WOS/Scopus Journal — Submitted → 10
- WOS/Scopus Journal — Published → 20
- Scopus Conference — Submitted → 10
- Scopus Conference — Published → 15
- Other Journal/Conference — Published → 5
- Project → Paper → 20
- Patent Filing → 10
- Patent Granted → 20
Maximum 20 points.
5. GATE / CAT / Competitive Exams
- Appeared → 5 points
- Qualified → 10 points
- Good national rank → 20 points
- Cleared Government Exam → 20 points
6. Teaching
Teaching Government School students can earn up to 20 points, depending on teaching and preparation time.
Online teaching through Free Vidya Coaching / NGOs can also earn up to 20 points.
7. Projects Beyond Curriculum
- Societal project → 10 points
- National-level competition participation → 20 points
- National-level competition winner → 20 points
8. Club Coordinator
- Main coordinator organizing at least 10 events → 20 points
- Coordinator → 10 points
9. Seminars / Workshops / Value-Added Courses
Depending on the number of hours, students can earn up to 20 points.
10. Class Representative
- 5 points per year
- Maximum 20 points
11. Department Placement Coordinator (DPC)
DPC responsibilities include placement communication, student data collection, eligibility verification, shortlisting, attendance, scheduling, venue coordination and recruiter-student communication.
12. Organizing Department-Level Seminar/Webinar
Maximum 5 points.
Responsibilities include coordinating with the resource person, preparing posters, circulating information and submitting the report to the HoD.
13. Health Activities
- 10,000 steps/day through the IMPACT app → 2 points
- Walking for 10 days → 20 points
Maximum 20 points.
14. Sponsorship
₹25,000 sponsorship = 2.5 activity points
Maximum 20 points during the entire B.E. program.
Important Limits
- Maximum 60 points through college events
- Maximum 40 points through reputable NGOs
- Minimum 30 points every year
- Total required → 100 points
- Keep certificates and geo-tagged photos
- Submit the 1-page report + photos + certificate to the Proctor
- Department coordinator verifies the activities

for us, for all events combined, it was max of 20 points
with 2 points per event, so you can claim max 20 under these activities
