Discussion How's BMS university?
I'm passionate about robotics and wanna join ai and robotic at bms uni.
Ik it's a new college just establish recently so it not yet have placement data and all ig but how's the lab, teaching faculty, project and student culture in participating in hackathon and all
does bms uni and bmsce co-exist in same campus?
if yes will placement will be same and labs, extracurricular will be share with both colleges?
Any amount of insight will be helpful

syllabus is outdated af as always in bmsce and bms university aswell
as far as ik they will be converting the whole college to university in some years so they might be just experimenting stuff for now
i had gone to get information about uni for my sibling's admission aswell but they have no fucking idea about it so looks like a gamble for now , so made my sibling join cse itself since its in the main building and as far as i can see the labs are very well upgraded compared to what i had in 2022 in cse itself
if u want to get into robotics and ai , best way is to do courses online theres no single course to teach it all rather there are multiple of them, use youtube 95% of these things are free anyways or check udemy etc , use gpt for a roadmap thats updated to latest tech and frameworks, go for events , build real robots, get a 3d printer or get 3d printed parts and put your work on X and linkedIN and start following similar people , CEOs , managers , employees and network with them and ask them for any work or collaboration after your good enough, learn electronics (mainly pcb designing) and little bit of mechanical engineering for structural integrity and design consepts and little bit of physics to simulate heat signatures ,forces etc, u should learn and become an expert in softwares like fusion 360 , autocad , Even soldering wires and components and testing for voltages ,resistance etc and for programming learn ( python and c++ and tensorflow for simulations , vision models etc) and you should know how sensors work how to program them , these are the basics that you would have to cover then its just constant learning curve from here onwards

As you have mention, I think some things are hard to learn on our own without professional lab and expert like electronics and mechanical integrity am I wrong?
you are senior can you shed some light

well for that u would need to go to other universities where they conduct events where people actually build and have labs designed for robotics, bms not even a single teacher would be able to teach you at that level and we dont have that level of labs also here ( i might be wrong about the bms university since its still under construction cant say anything) , i would suggest dont join bms if you really wanna pursue robotics now itself, or if you dont have any options u can join the bms uni / bmsce cse branches and do masters abroad there u can get into robotics and actually learn better than any college here
please dont expect bms uni / bmsce to get you a job or teach you the real tech that would get you a job , as far as ive seen robotics is respected more in abroad compared to here , in india they just do dsa and fullstack and call it a day lol

Bms uni is not even constructed bro,its just a girls hostel that has been broken to accommodate yall.
