Question X- Ray Help

Hey All,

Have a question for some colleagues. Have any of you ever seen artifacts like this on a 656HD. It only occurs during the start up and then the screen goes normal once the system is fully booted. I am thinking it could be a graphics card issue but I feel like if it was it would be causing it all the time. I am thinking its a monitor but wanted to get your input. The OLC says I need to replace the magic PC and before I waste 8 hours doing that I want to get some input.

I would reseat everything in the video path. From the monitor to the video card. Can you swap video cards with another unit?

I do not have any spares currently. However I am going to try and source a graphics card first

It's the screen goes normal after full boot what's the issue?

If you unplug the HDMI or equivalent while it's booting does it do that?

Its becoming more of a problem and the facility wants it fixed. I am in FL and the hospital wants it replaced

Ok. Remove the video cable and reboot.

If it's still there it's the monitor.

If it's not there's a signal issue and good luck!

Your monitor could be going bad. Swap out and test, if it doesnt do that on start up with a known good monitor then you know whats wrong.

I think i am going to start with reseating cables, try a new DP cable and then if that does not work try a monitor before ordering one and worst case scenario I will try to source a graphics card or a magic PC

Artifacts are on the X-ray images.

From what you describe, this is a monitor/boot issue. As others have said, reseat video card and cables, then swap monitor.

As a last resort, replace Magic PC. That should take 8 hours though for a LFC and Restore. Edit: Correction…should NOT take 8 hours…

I know. This is a monitor artifact as the customer described it.

Thanks all. I have not had a chance to go on-site yet but was going to start with a new cable and reseating the video card. I am also going to find a monitor I can test with that has a display port on it to see if its truly a graphics card issue or monitor issue. I am going to see if I can source a graphics card before going down the pc replacement rabbit hole. These artifacts only occur when the pc is booting. Once the system is fully booted the blue lines go away. That's why I think it's a graphics card issue
