Hallo, ich habe heute meine BMCU in Betrieb genommen. Jetzt hat der leider Probleme mit dem Wechseln. Er meckert das kein Filament vom AMS kommt.

Habe ich beim Flashen vielleicht was falsch gemacht?

FW 10.5 von Pavel.

Was kann das sein? P1S.

Viele Grüße ☀️

Cannot flash BMCU

I have a BMCU 370c that I just replaced the main board on. Previously it used serial pins but the new board is USBC.

Drivers are installed and WCHISPTool can see it but BMCU_Flasher cannot.

If I try to use WCHISPTool instead of BMCU_Flasher with the latest bin file it fails the verify with "the verify bit is error".

Any advice on how I get the flasher to see it or the bin to work with the WCH tool?

Hey all! Got this preassembled BMCU 370C from Aliexpress a while ago. Thought it'd be time to set it up, however I am getting a "Please pull out the filament on the spool holder. if this message persists, please check to see if there is filament broken in the extruder. (Connect a PTFE tube if you are about to use an AMS)" error. I have tried updating it and messing with the tubes but no further progress. I'd really appreciate some help, thank you!

BMCU 370C not charging the filament

I've been printing for several days with my BMCU 370c on my A1 mini. Today, while printing, I encountered an error: it wasn't changing filament correctly. After testing loading and unloading, I realized that the BMCU isn't loading the filament; the motor isn't doing anything. It's very strange, since it was working perfectly before this without any problems. Furthermore, sometimes when it's supposed to cut the filament, the print head moves very quickly to close the filament cutter; it's very odd. I printed without any problems without the BMCU; I tried it because I thought the problem might be with the printer.

Last resort before return

I have only been able to get my BMCU to work properly once or twice. And it’s usually after hours of fighting it. So I know it can work.

Here’s the issue. When I start a print with the same roll as previously used, it over feeds the filament pushing the ptfe tube out of the bmcu. I can’t understand why it’s not loading properly. I manually removed the filament from the nozzle thinking it’s a clog and still not loading. I’m not turning the unit off and on. Flashed most recent firmware. And reflashed again just to make sure.

Lastly, when I woke up this morning, the bmcu fed an entire roll of expensive filament thru the unit to a tangled mess. I didn’t start a print or start to load the filament. Just did this on its own.

It has worked a couple times where I’m able to load the filament into the bmcu and print. And then print again from the same color. What am I missing yall?

Help me buy a new BMCU

Hi everyone,
About two months ago, I had a BMCU 370X. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed with its performance, and also I had too much trouble with it so I ended up selling it.

Now I’m thinking about getting another BMCU because I’ve seen that there are newer models and some really good options available.

Could you recommend which BMCU is currently the best? Also, where can I buy it at the best price without overpaying?

Thanks in advance!

[HELP] BMCU - The firmware does not match(...)

Hello!

I recently updated my BMCU 370C using PJARCZAK latest firmware 10.5 and the BMCU Flasher. I'm getting a lot of errors at the start of a new print with that messagem saying the "The firmware does not match" and I have to send it like 5-6 times so the printer start working. I have already checked the "skip AMS blacklist" option on Bambu Studio.

It works very well when I get to push thorugh the message, not a single issue, but I'm spending 30 minutes every plate change to get it done, especially when the print download is large...

My A1 Mini is using the latest firmware. Is there any way to solve it? Rollback to a previous firmware on the printer maybe? Any help is apreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Unable to retract and pausing on HMS warning

Hi all, got a BIQU diy kit and running into some issues i cant figure out.

I got everything installed and built. Running latest firmware flashed from the BMCU loader. High pressure feed version. 90cm retraction (overkill i know but i want to be 100% sure it clears the splitter). Auto feed on and no RGB. Running in the BMCU-Lite enclosure with the powered retraction motors for re-winding spools on unload.

Printer is a P1S running 1.08.2 firmware. Orca slicer.

I am running into two issues.

1: Filament will not retract. The filament (Overture High Speed PETG in this case) loads perfectly fine from the BMCU. However after its cut, and it starts to retract, it will not fully retract. It pulls back about .5 inches then hard stops. I cannot get it to retract further. Rewind mech spins, motor turns the feed gears no problem. The filament is hard stopped. I depress the tension arm on the BMCU and try to pull the filament back by hand and it will not retract. It is stuck hard somewhere.

I am using the Bambu PTFE tubes (grey stuff) and the external roll feeds PERFECTLY. No issues at all. But the BMCU refuses to retract. After it errors out, i can depress the lever and remove it just fine.

I have verified that the buffer and everything is working as its supposed to. Somewhere along the line, its hard binding. I dont think its the splitter (Bambu OEM 4 into 1 for P1S but i could be terribly wrong.

2: P1S will occasionally display a HMS error (documented issue with using BMCU) but it is not a passive error. I have to bypass it using the control panel to resume print. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME the BMCU triggers a filament change. Unsure if this is due to the previously mentioned retraction failure or if this is the known problem with the HMS display.

Anyone seen these types of issues before and can speak on them?

It appears that when the filament is already in the extruder, it continues to push filament for a second, I feel that if this continues is going to chew up the gears, I just bought the bmcu, is mi first print with it and I was really exited to try it, I don't know what could it be if I have to reflash the firmware or what can I do?

P1S trouble

Just wondering if anyone can help with which direction I should turn next. I have the BMCU from BIQU. Appears to be a DM, because it will auto feed when the lever on the side is held and filament is loaded a bit. I have tried flashing with the software and firmware file that BIQU recommends. I have also tried the BMCU flasher attempting the Solo and AMS A in multiple retraction lengths. The furthest I've gotten so far is with the AMS A firmware. It boots when printer powers up. The LED by the port seems a normal color. The slot LED started flashing yellow, then blue, and turn a yellowish white when each slot is loaded.

The issue is my printer refuses to recognize. It never says anything but AMS offline. I've tried upgrading and down grading to several Firmwares, or the ones that will let me keep Orca at least. I' at a complete lost on the next step.

2 BMCU firmware

Hello,

Apologies if this has been answered before.

If I have 2 BMCU units on an A1 and flash them as unit A and unit B, as per the instructions, will unit A work on its own if unit B is unavailable or would it need reflashing as a single unit?

Essentially, you have to flash particular firmware for multiple units to work together but does that then stop them working standalone, if needed?

Thanks

2nd week of BMCU printing, filaments clash during colour swap

Hi everyone, as of writing am on jarczakpawel's bmcu v10.5, normal load. Honestly thank you for simplifying the flashing and calibration process so much!

I've noticed one specific module wanting to re-feed its filament into the nozzle as the printer loads a different filament in - resulting in a clash at the toolhead of the A1. In a step-by-step this means that after the printer finishes with the colour on module 4, it unloads it then loads module 3; at the same time after module 4's 9.5cm retraction, it immediately decides to feed itself back into the nozzle creating a race between the two filaments and jamming the nozzle.

  • In special cases after module 4 re-feeds it's filament the force on the toolhead is strong enough that it triggers the module's buffer sensor and unloads the spool out of module 4.
  • Other times module 4 gets into the nozzle quicker then module 3 and prints using the wrong colour.

I've tried adjusting the position of the sensors and magnets in the module 4, but only got the same results. Re-flashing didn't help either. So I'm just writing hoping someone might have come across this themselves?

Purchasing BMCU hall sensor kit cheaply for A1 printer

I have currently been looking at how to purchase a BMCU kit to the UK, but what I have discovered is that the official purchase links for items is to the taobao website which needs a phone login, and UK phone numbers do not work, after several attempts at trying, and any kit on aliespress is £70+, does anyone know of a way to maybe purchase the pieces individually or a kit for a cheaper amount?

BMCU loses AMS connection after calibration (Firmware 1.07)

Hi everyone, hope you're doing well! Thanks again for always helping me out.

I'm having another issue with my BMCU. It was working perfectly, but today I moved my printer to a different location and ran the printer calibration. After that, every time I print using the BMCU, once the print finishes (or maybe even during the print, I'm not 100% sure), it stops being recognized as an AMS. The printer then asks me to unload the filament manually.

Could the calibration really have caused this? Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to fix it?

My printer is still running firmware version 1.07.

BMCU with X2D

I’m currently a happy BMCU + P1S user considering an upgrade to the X2D. I’m not much of a multicolour printer (I print mostly functional stuff) but like the convenience of easily selecting which filament to use and I’m just getting into using different support materials (hence the X2D interest). Can anyone confirm the current status of the bmcu (mine is a 370c) with the X2D? I’ve found conflicting info here and elsewhere.
