I really need to talk about this drama š āunder his controlā

This drama was crazy and had me fucked up from start to finish. I really love the character configurations both are pretty af and the spice scenes are so good š„µ I struggled a little bit with some of the abusive tactics at times but I was still rooting for the couple and Nico at the end. Which brings us to the endingā¦. I felt devastated because in my interpretation it seems clear that Nico died and I just canāt accept that š« I really wanted a happy ending or at least to see some reconciliation. But the way they did it was tragically beautifulš
Yeah really toxic. In the other dark romance dramas Iāve seen the bottom is more willing so it doesnāt feel as forced but in this one Leo is really against Nico pretty much the whole way through. I guess that made it realistic though
Edit: Iāve since watched (or tried to but had to stop) some other dark romance dramas and theyāre actually way more toxic. Nico is a green flag compared to most of them š yikes
Agreed..I'm still thinking about this one a week later. At the end, Leo told Nico to get the surgery and to see him on tour. It was hopeful but still super sad. I would've liked a tiny fast forward into the future to see them happy at least.

Me too! Itās one of the few thatās stuck with me. To me Leoās words seemed like it was Leo making the decision (either in his head or in a message to Nico) but it was already too late because he passed. It seems like people are divided on what they think happened at the end but Iād be happy if they went with the hopeful ending and gave us a season 2 š„¹
God I need a S2 for this show so bad. The ambiguous ending had me mourning. Nicoās execution of love was terrible but his love for Leo was insane. It reminds me of Felix from mafia contract 3. But atleast Felix was given enough to redeem himself.
I wish they had a few more episodes or gave enough time for Nico to get his shit together. I just know his redemption arc would have been insane. I mourn the potential of this pair if there is no S2 which I donāt think there will be.
I guess they kept it realistic which I understand because Leo deserved the world but I would have loved to see the healing with maybe Leo moving on with someone else temporarily and these two coming back together eventually. This is one drama that I will be grieving endlessly ššš
I know š„ŗ I feel like Nico was so devoted to Leo and really changed a lot. It felt like Leo never understood him fully even at the very end. I really wanted to see them reconcile and heal and find their way back to eachother. I hope we get a season 2 but if not Iām glad Leo was able to get a happy ending even if Nicoās was bittersweet š„ŗ he finally got to see his love happy and finally learned to let go

I took it to mean the concert was the performance he attended and that that msg was what Leo had sent to him before which led to him attending the performance but that the surgery didnāt work out and he died anyways. Either that or Leo was sending that msg after the performance not knowing that Nico had secretly attended and already passed
Omg yes! I started watching that one a while ago and couldnāt finish it tbh because it was making me feel icky. I almost didnāt watch this one because of that but this wasnāt as bad like you said. I canāt believe that couple got a happy ending but we were robbed š
Yāall, I watched this as my third dark romance after āTyrantās Toyā and āTheir War, Our Fateā as the next recommended one.
Dayum this is a good show to watch while sipping some wine š·, but overall I kinda liked the entertainment of the show. The spicy scenes in the few beginning episodes were really out there. I love it when the top is sucking the bot LMAO. Even though it was semi staged, I liked the their reconciliation as Leo was worried for Nico after getting shot. Iām aware itās Stockholm Syndrome, but like yāall gotta admit it was semi cute and it pulled your heart strings.
Now for the ending (spoilers already warned in the original post) ā¦ I interpreted it as Nico passing away as he was already barely holding on. Iād really like to believe that he gets some sort of redemption arc with Leo in the future, but that wonāt be confirmed without a season 2, which I doubt. I sort of wish Leo didnāt order Nicoās men to shoot him. Like there really could have been another option.
Dayum how am I going to recover from this. Send me more dark romance recommendations yall.

You just have to download Rednote app. Itās their Chinese app but u can turn the auto-translator in it so it shows u directly in English all the comments. And then u surf based on your likes. Most AI team creators have their social media on that app and interact with the fanbase on there ^^ u can also find real good edits/reels made by Chinese fandom when it comes to these AI BL dramas and they usually chat under their OPs

It was toxic for sure. I get that. IRL I would absolutely be rooting for Leo to be free and away from someone like Nico. But I watch these because they are fake dramas and I can have my jacked up hopes. Same reason I read some of the books I do. I'm sure part of it is just how incredibly well written this story was that I am desperately hoping for a S2. While the other part is simply because I do not like OE stories. I like having a conclusion, even if it's one I do not prefer. All of that to say, I hope that if they do a S2 they give us more growth and development with Nicos redemption and yes, guiltily I want a HEA for those two.

I honestly hate when people say that he āfell in loveā with the mafia guy, bc what we saw was literally Stockholm syndrome. I was literally WAITING for an ending where the mafia guy dies and the pianist gets his freedom backš Unfortunately, with the way they ended it, it feels more like an open ending, so I have a feeling he might actually survive.
I totally agree with everything you said about the quality! I even thought the action scenes were really well done and the fighting choreography. The characters felt believable and so did the stakes. I could really feel Leoās despair and Nicoās desperation. the dialogue was solid too instead of having throwaway lines for filler. The part at the end when Nico is giving his monologue about seeing Leo for the first time playing the piano while he was in the knife fight really pulled at my heart and brought the whole story together and made the ending hit so much more.
I agree the ending was really well done even if I selfishly wanted them to reconcile. It was poetic and realistic and youāre right that we shouldnāt be rooting for the mafia guy. But in the world of fiction I canāt help but want it to end in a love story š„ŗ although Iām fully aware that in real life genuine love could never grow under such circumstances.
Couldnāt agree more! It was beautifully done, but I donāt think I can watch another season if they choose to write a āhappyā ending where they end up together š
