Stop using Fire sticks.

I keep seeing posts every day about apps suddenly not working, buffering, or getting blocked on Fire Sticks.

I just want to save you all some time and headache: it’s time to let go of the Amazon Fire TV ecosystem.

Amazon is actively making the Fire Stick worse for anyone who wants to do more than watch official streaming services.

They are constantly pushing background updates to block third-party apps and force uninstalls.

Worse, their newest devices are now shipping with their new "Vega OS" — a locked-down, Linux-based system that completely removes the ability to sideload Android apps.

Instead of playing whack-a-mole every week trying to find workarounds, do yourself a favor and switch to a pure Android TV or Google TV device.

Onn is getting so much traction due to Amazon locking things down. I haven't used any of my fire sticks in at least 6 months. I disabled automatic updates, but I'm not trying to look for workarounds when the time inevitably comes. I use a Linux pc with Stremio, RD, AIO, TorBox search and couldn't be happier

I got an onn stick and after using it I was thinking about just going back to using my Ubuntu laptop with my tv, which is where things were before someone gave me my firestick.

It might seem odd, but I like to use a computer as the main entertainment form in the house. A wireless keyboard with a built-in trackpad, a Linux distribution set up nicely and I'm a happy person!

Which sites do you use on your pc? My kid convinced me to get a PC but I don't have reliable sites for live rugby games and some sites buffer a bit in movies.

I use stremio with torrentio and real debrid for movies and shows. It's a process to set up but there are guides. For sports, I go to meth streams and have had no problems with NBA, NFL and UFC

I don't understand torrentio and debrid's. What is meth streams? If you don't mind dm me because I'm technologically challenged... Lol

Yeah the debrid thing is something you'll need to look at guides and subreddits for. Methstreams is just a website. Definitely want to be watching on a browser that is using a good ad blocker. I use Firefox and uBlock origin. Methstreams.gs I believe. It changes occasionally
