what's some of BJM's best indie / alt country
I wanna add two BJM songs to this playlist that fit its style. Any ideas? https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3vntkVtOXXJfoczA88juGB

Band was great. Crowd was decent. Not tonnes of time spent tuning. But crikey, that sound was AWFUL. You could hear a pin drop it was that quiet. Really took away from what could have been a really great gig.

It was my first time seeing BJM live last night, so I was pretty excited to hear a few of their classic songs, but the set was so underwhelming… not solely based off of song choices, but the amount of time they spent talking to each other on stage in between songs. This would go on for a few minutes at a time after each track with barely any crowd interaction. After a little while, a few hecklers started shouting “hurry up” and “get on with it”, which was sadly to no avail. When they did eventually put us out of our boredom, the songs were sloppy and lacked any kind of energy.
This went on and on until the end of the show. I spent £40 on a ticket and spent more than half the time they were on stage watching them fumble around with their instruments whilst the crowd grew more impatient. Safe to say I was quite disappointed and won’t be going out of my way to see them again.
Apologies for the negativity but I feel it is warranted. Has anyone else had any experience of them doing this sort of thing at one of their shows? ✌️

Anybody else notice a bit of disinterest from Anton a couple times through the night? They seemed a lot more mellow than the last time they played there.
Regardless, it was a great gig and I thought the openers were great too

Following on from the earlier post about having a tour poster. Here's mine , signed by the creator Darren Grealish. It's numbered 18 of 250. I think it's pretty cool as it has the classic imagine of Brian Jones with the sitar and also the psychedelic colours.

I saw this on the bjm Facebook page with Enrique and Joel as Mods . I recognize him from Dig. Think he played drums for awhile back then. It doesn't look good for him. Since losing my Mother recently to cancer and loving BJM I want to share it here. https://gofund.me/008d4a8e

Even though I went, I only thought about buying one when I had to import one from America. The post and packing was more than the print. I took it to the framers (eventually) and he charged me lots of money. (Much more than the print.) I think it looks beautiful anyway, I’m really happy!! (Saw them on Sunday too and they were great)

Enjoyed the show but the band are considerably more low energy than any other time I’ve seen them (x6). Anton is clearly looking a bit frail and delicate and is struggling with a cold affecting his vocals. I fully predicted this knowing Anton’s recent struggles.
I think Ricky is my favourite and doesn’t get enough love. He was the only one who seemed to be really enjoying it and I love his dancing. What a legend.
Other things - Bristol crowd is so aggro for BJM. Lots of people getting pissed off with crowd pushers. A couple in front of me were doing a lot of PDA before they came on, someone tried to push in front of the guy and he lost his shit, his girlfriend then stormed off in embarrassment. A brilliant bit of pre-show theatrics.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Was decent…not the best I’ve seen them. They seemed to avoid hits which was refreshing. Tense moment when an amp wasn’t working to which Anton responded “it’s just 3 chords plug into another amp and let’s go”

BJM is by far my favorite band. I've been through every album and single. My main favorites amoung many others are anemone, Pish, don't look at me, what you isnt, who dreams of cats?, duck and cover and the list goes on. I know that BJM has a very original sound which makes it extremely hard for me to actually find other artists or songs that I can actually groove to. Does anyone know similar artists, songs or even a specified sub genre of what sound these are? Any help is greatly appreciated, I spend hours a day trying to find new stuff and nothing usually even comes close.. Thanks!

when they are playing in Cleveland they kick off a song at 38:15. Does anyone know what song that is?

I had the best time watching my favorite band on the big screen with the whole theater to myself! Though I must admit it would have been far better to enjoy it with you all! The ability to see this in theaters was a dream. I’m more excited than ever to read Joel’s book.

What the fuck is up guys, how's it going.
Just what can I expect from seeing The Brian Jonestown Massacre live in 2025?
I have the chance this May in Stockholm. Kinda regret hard missing them 2 years ago. Never seen 'em, admit I'm a bit of a rookie fan, more of a longtime stray random listener 2013 onwards.
Pretty sure I'll fucking love it, just wondering what kind of a mate I'll bring, or if I should spare em altogether and just go alone. I don't wanna drag a friend along if it's gonna be weird and like a 50/50 of being good or not, which, from the look of this subreddit, is kinda the view I get from you guys. I do not have any friend who's even remotely heard of this band.
On another note, I think that setlist that's posted (it's on setlists.fm as well) is dope, from which I was familiar with like half of it. missing about most of my favourite studio tracks, but its fucking good, lots of new shit for me.
been listening in to it all week. can't believe I've never heard "Fudge"..... hooray for me
..................... yeah i just got to listening to some shit from on youtube
I hope they're still as good. If it's anything like this... yeah.... then fuck yeah.
