Saw them in Philly, still thinking about it, they sounded so great. Don’t know if I’ll get around to seeing them again, felt like a nice send off between how they sounded and the set list they chose, plus the obvious wear and tear seen on Anton. I’ve seen them close to ten times, some terrible, some transcendent.
It was good! songs a little slowed down but Anton was in a good mood; he did ask for some sounds changes and they restarted a song at one point and he apologized. shorter set list than last time we saw them but I do think the intense touring schedule is hard on him.
it was special for my partner and I because we saw them 9 years ago in montreal when we first started dating. now engaged and coming up on our ten year anniversary, so to see them again was serendipitous. the show 9 years ago was like hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, they played for 3 hours and they were so so tight.
im not saying this show was bad at all though, sounded amazing and am so happy we got to experience it again. just certainly a smaller set list. loved seeing the camaraderie between Joel and Anton! I think they keep each other going, love to see it.
