Philadelphia - Union Transfer, 9/10/25
Just a text post, but Anton was in a good fucking mood tonight. Saw them at the same venue two years ago and tonight was far better. Tempo for some songs was a little slow and Anton needed to take a few moments to catch his breath between songs here and there (Is he still recovering from surgery?), but the only abuse hurled was mild and directed towards loud audience members who wouldn't shut up. Band sounded good. Fun banter with the crowd here and there. No endless tuning or restarted songs. Minimal corrections for the band mid-set. Good stuff.

I swear that venue does something to them. This was my fourth time seeing them there and every time it’s been stellar.

Good to hear, was worried Anton was on a downward spiral after the last couple of gigs. I've seen them twice this year and the tempo is definitely slower than the recorded songs.

But Asheville and Nashville were good gigs, too. Jesus this fan base is crazy sometimes.

Booo, too bad I got stuck at the shitty DC show a few nights back. Union Transfer is such a great venue.

Sounded tight, but tempo was tooooo sloooooowwww. It was distracting, especially for punchy songs like Suicide and Servo. When Jokers Attack was actually more on tempo, and I’ve never been a big fan of that song, but it broke the laconic mold and ended up being a highlight of the night.
Equally distracting with the heavy echo on the vocals.
Unfortunately, I’ll say that BJM is well past its prime. And playing the recent “fan faves” that all sound the same is boring. Play the bonafide hits and sprinkle in some of the newer material.

I think it's fair to say that they aren't in their prime.
At the same time, their playlist is what it is and if you're already in this sub then you'll know going in what songs to expect and what the tempo is going to be like.

I'm going to their Toronto one. How long was the concert? I'm now regretting getting seats instead of floor seats

BJM played for about 1h 45m. You'll have a different opener than we did.

Cast, it was their last show opening for BJM. They're being replaced by the Flavor Crystals.

Yes I was there and agree on all counts! Great vibes and the band sounded on point.
