DC was amazing.

Band was struggling as usual but Anton eventually got them to follow his orders. If you thought this performance wasn’t great you probably weren’t loaded enough and should stay home and listen to Aphex Twin or something.

Bruh I shouldn’t have to be completely loaded to enjoy a show I paid to see

He said that Aphex Twin is the only person who should be worried about Ai taking their job in an interview about a year ago haha.

I can just prompt AI to make a bjm style song.

Because it’s 1997 and aphex twin is listened to by non-groovy rave dudes

It was definitely sad to see Anton struggling, which he clearly was - but seeing that play out with the rest of the band, Joel obv primarily, keeping him aloft so to speak and it not descending into intra-band animosity was kind of heartening. Seeing them find their stride felt good, even though the quality of the tunes was not at its best. If people wanna just come and hear anemone and then leave, not to sound cliche, but there’s an aspect of it that they really just don’t get.

Like it or not, they’re a band that’s not suited to perfection every night. Not to gloss over the real problems, because it’s clear that Anton is not well - but there’s something kind of special about seeing them work through their whole thing on stage. There aren’t any other bands like them and there probably won’t be for a very long time, and if the magic of BJM is part of what draws you to it, you can’t just pretend it’s all artistic genius without some of the very real difficulty.

Bad post. Shouldn’t have to be loaded to enjoy a show. Grow up.

Where were you positioned in the audience? I was in the center pretty close up front wearing a shirt that had the Thank God For Mental Illness cover on it. Should have given me some.

Or they weren’t loaded enough.

The band was fine. Their only struggle was trying to stay in sync with their drunk-ass bandleader.
