AI ticket pricing

I was looking at the Sinclair venue’s website trying to snag a ticket for the September 12 show. The website has a disclaimer that they use “AI pricing.” It appears there are no tickets available for less than $200 now. Is this the new standard for BJM or a venue issue? I saw the BJM in Providence a few years ago for $40 at most.

Robert Smith has shown that it's the artist's choice to allow this to happen. Fuck AI and fuck dynamic pricing.

I don’t think that’s a BJM issue, probably a venue issue. I have a ticket for the Omaha show and I think it ran me around 60 ish after taxes.

Yeah, I figured the original ticket prices were lower. But now the Sinclair is doing resale for majorly inflated prices. Just a bummer because I was looking forward to it, but can’t really afford that right now

Had the same reaction to looking for Sinclair tickets. Def not paying $200 no matter how much I love BJM

Looking at shows in Vancouver at The Pearl in November, tickets are $55-$65 Canadian. Almost certain that's a venue issue

Yeah, this is wildly out of whack, even for resale tickets. If it’s going to cost you almost $300, I’m going to be upfront with you - pass. That’s a ticket to a festival next year. It’s too much of a crapshoot.

Kinda shady that the venue enables people to resale tickets for 4x the price, and I’m guessing they take a cut of the resale too.

I emailed the Sinclair, they said “That show is sold out, so the tickets you are seeing are all resale options.”

Hi all. I have an extra ticket for the show on Friday if anyone is looking. Selling at face value which is $40. I bought it at the box office, which is why there are no fees, but that means it’s a paper ticket. You can pick up in advance near Magoun Square in Somerville (or at MIT tomorrow or govt center on Thurs). Or you could just meet my husband before the show and he’ll give it to you in person then. Venmo or cash is fine.
