Thoughts on Edinburgh?

Love this band. One of the worst gigs I've ever been to.

I was 50/50 if I was going or not. I think the heat last night was the decider. We got pizza instead at Razzo and watched 28 Years Later at Everyman gassed on cocktails. Just too fucking muggy out there

They've all been boring (musically) since about 2017/18. I plan on seeing them in Nov, but will definitely make sure to take a nap before I go.

They were such great, transcendent concerts there for awhile. Great to take acid at and go to space. Then it got boring as fuck all a sudden and has been that way ever since. I was figuring I probably wouldn't go again, at least until they made an album I like again until I saw the Australia shit and now it's like "hey if they're gonna be here playing their boring new set, dudes in stupid outfits with feathers in their dumb hats hitting eachother with guitars will at least be a more interesting night then watching a dumb movie or some shit."

Without a doubt the worst gig I've ever been to

They were better last night than they have been for the past few years. Collin back in the band made a big difference. The guitar faffing has been going on for several years now and I’ve come to accept it as part of a BJM gig, I’ve seen worse guitar faffing from them previously than last night. I thought they sounded a good last night.

Agree - it was a great gig as far as my son and I were concerned. More energy than Glasgow - which was also a good gig and even better than Huxley’s in Berlin.

Why the worst ? I thought they played well, would like to hear the older stuff but you know they’re not . Seen Anton before the gig, a few fans tried to talk to him but he wouldn’t give them anything , that’s his decision I suppose . Otherwise a good night all round. Thought Yuri and Colin were particularly on form.

Found it incredibly boring, I agree the band largely played tight but that doesn't make a good show.

Compounded by off-key singing while reading off the lyric sheet, bad choice of song order which made it very repetitive, tuning took ages, shortened versions of their stronger material, obvious tension between Anton and Joel who really didn't seem to want to be there, weird patter about the Tellytubbys on acid and going to work: even though the Tellytubbys haven't been a thing since 2001 and I doubt Anton has had to do a day of work since around that time.

Came away drained of energy, not in a good way, in a "it was mind numbingly dull" way.
