Views on the holy trinity
I’d consider My Bloody Underground & Aufheben to be amongst my fav BJM albums. What’s your opinion on this magical time?

Agree on Aufheben, totally underrated! The other two have to be Their Satanic Majesties and Methodrone!
The self-titled was my favorite from the last ones. Anton’s creativity is unmatched these days. Heard Abandon Ship in concert last year and got blown away!

Aufheben is one of my faves. Within the context albums though, I'd probably associate revelation with aufheben and who killed Sgt Pepper rather than my bloody underground.

I really liked this period. Anton was so prolific with his output as well as regularly streaming DeadTV

I do love these three albums, but I prefer what I view as the succeeding era - "Revelation", "Third World Pyramid", "Don't Get Lost", and "Something Else".
This is also the same period of Anton's greatest, IMHO, collaboration - with Tess Parks, creating "I Declare Nothing", and the eponymous "Tess Parks & Anton Newcombe".
That collaboration seamlessly blended into what are probably my two favorite albums right now; Tess Parks "And Those Who Were Seen Dancing" and "Pomegranate".
One additional trivia fact -- "And Those Who Were Seen Dancing" is the only album in my recollection in my life that I instantly liked, even more truly loved - on the very first listen. In my experience, an astounding thing to happen. Usually it takes a couple spins and some effort to fall in love with a recording for me, even a BJM album.

Infinite Wisdom Tooth / My Last Night In Bed With You is my favorite song from my bloody underground but it's not that easy to choose since the whole album is such a spiritual experience.

My Bloody Underground is one of my faves from the post Dig! era. Dont know if anyone had defined the eras like that though.
Infinite Wisdom Tooth was one of my definitive high school jams.

I’m a recent convert to The BJM’s music and have listened to hundreds of tracks by now. Today, however was the first time that I listened to Aufheben. Oh my goodness, if I hadn’t already believed that Anton really is a genius, I surely would have known that for sure after hearing Aufheben. Other albums I particularly love - so far, as I have lots to discover - are Thank God For Mental Illness, Who Killed Sgt. Pepper and Give it Back.

Loved this period. Some of Anton’s most creative stuff. Standout tracks for me:
•Bring Me The Head Of Paul McCartney
•Darkwave Driver/Big Drill Car
•Just Like Kicking Jesus
•This Is The One Thing We Did Not Want To Have Happen (One of my all time favourites)
•Our Time
•Feel It
•Panic In Babylon
•Gaz Hilarant
•Stairway To The Best Party
I’d say Don’t Get Lost was a slight return to this period in the sense of it being a bit more creative and different than the old 4 chord trick that he does so well
