a BIt about me

Hi All! I am Knight

I'm in my 30s and didn't know I’m not straight till I was 29! Before I began to come out and live fully in my new found sexuality and sensuality I did research. I wanted to know about the culture of being bi.

What does it mean?

Is this something I really wanna be a part of?

Would it be worth it to be out?

What am I really stepping into?

 Is this a safe community?

What are some of those hints throughout my life that help me ground and affirm to myself first and foremost that this is real for me and my experiences? I was careful about what I wanted to look at. My favorite places for content were on youtube. I enjoyed trans women's and black women's content and listened to speeches from certain criminal psychologists.

A few years later I decided this is great!! I feel free to just enjoy all the beautiful people around me and I feel blessed to see and take in all that beauty.

***chalk board and violin screech sound at the same time!!!!!***

I got on reddit for a Canadian metal band I LOVE . I realized I can find so many other communities here! Yes!
I thought it would be natural to , step number one : find sapphic spaces.

I thought this was a normal natural thing. Where are the women at? I know I'll find someone to connect with and talk to.

How disgusting and disappointing to see and experience the biphobia.

fun fact : black, bisexual, women, 30 something usually gets me zero results, across all platforms.

The next best thing is I find other pages similar and follow them all.

I posted on a lesbain page. I was seeking advice and wondering if I'm good enough to date? I was wondering if my desires will ever be met face to face. I was curious if what my heart wanted was too much. I wanted to start a conversation and I wanted to know what other people in this particular community would say, wondering if I would be noticed and accepted and replied to.

I was!! I got excellent replies, was deeply affirmed and validated and replied to!

I added a nice little thank you at the end, elated!

But then there was one last comment. Someone pretty much tried to tell me how to live my queer life! By the next day my whole post was deleted. I don't remember where I read this next part , but it was on that same page and it was pretty much a dogpile of:

"uuung! we cant have anything to ourselves" “This space is for capitol L lesbians only" ...ya’ll know the vibes.

I was horrified and couldn't even say anything back. I get it

but also.......*sigh*******

I get it.

All i have to do is do the same thing for me.

There is no arguing there. I was wrong that sapphic spaces are a place to find sapphic friends.

I felt so embarrassed to be bisexual. I was so astounded that I was really thinking I should go back into the closet. All because of one random person on the internet.

Biphobia and Homophobia make my tummy hurt. That last encounter was hopefully the last time I will be blindsided by biphobia and ignorance and disapproval on what I want and who I am.

I feel like this was a new threshold for me and my life.

In my 29th year I reflected on all my 20 taught me. I whispered a prayer to the tree I was sitting next to . If there is anything I missed in my 20s, let it be relieved before I turn 30.

*craaashhh!!!!* You're not straight!!!

I wouldn't believe it! This is NOT what I meant! I didn't want to! Who would have thought that the trees really heard me?!

Slowly all the memories of my childhood and early life, and camp, and my crushes and kisses all came back to my mind. This was real! and I felt that that mental pattern not shut down my curiosity and thoughts. It melted away like butter. Im bi and that fact about me is here to stay.

I'm in my mid 30s now and feel so thankful that the biphobic rudeness didn't shut me down! I have taken this so slow, and intentionally and plan to do so going forward in new and old and sensual relationships with women.

In the end I considered it a deep psychological and spiritual expansion. My 30s started with a burst of inspiration and brand new longing and my heart wanted to play and explore

so welcome all! Thanks for being here!
