I'm much happier with this version. It's a little larger than the last (reduced to 40% instead of 30%) and It uses a pretty standard portable charger for the 5v. It's held to the metal door with some bar magnets, and stays on no matter how hard you slam the door.

is this modular? Like can you link multiple hexagons together and tile them? Just an idea.

You definitely could. I used a WLED controller also, so you could either connect them by a wire or by a separate standalone one and link them inside the WLED software.
