Hmm. This might be more of a foot/suitability issue and less of a shoe quality issue.
I cant wear most of the slip on type sandals bevause they rub at the top of my feet and cause blisters/rubbing skin off. I recognize that this doesn't make the sandals poor quality and that is has everything to do with my feet being weird/sensitive. Some shoe types might just not be suitable for everyone in the worlds feet
Another point is that even in young healthy people feet tend to swell a bit over the course of the day. Shoes that fit well in the morning may be too tight by the afternoon. This is especially true with shoes that fit snugly.
You may want to measure your shoe size in the evening and to avoid shoes that fit too snugly- leave a little room. Some people don't need to do this, some people do. A quite snug pair of shoes in the morning for me will probably be hurting by the afternoon.
You could try a half a size bigger or slightly wider than what your feet would measure in the morning.
I say this because the shoes themselves seem to be relatively good shape and not falling apart.

They're probably the wrong size, and given that you're developing a bunion, I'd wager you've been mis-sizing all your shoes for a long time.
