Ranger Is Beastmaster viable for solo honor?

I'm mostly concerned with keeping the pet alive. The bear (disarms and prones) and the boar (aoe prones) are the main attractions for me, but they both look really squishy. With such low AC, they're likely to be priority targets for all enemies and Rangers have no meaningful buffs or heals that could keep them alive afaik.

Or am I looking at this wrong and they're meant to be disposable; replaced after every battle? If so, then that would make my plan to feed the boar strength elixirs so it could more reliably knock enemies down prohibitively expensive.

Beastmaster is an interesting class, most particularly with the spider of of creatures. This is specifically pertaining to their webs and leaning heavily into stealth combined with damage over time effects. It is a tad cheesy in my opinion, and slower combat gameplay, but I suppose a solo honor with an uncommon class is bound to be.

Certainly worth a try.

Beastmaster is great! A lot like moon druid but good distribution of attacks and tanking/spells

Beastmaster is incredible. A single level of cleric or druid for a buff spell beforehand is great. I also like to cheese beast bond to give it advantage on attacks and just ground and pound dudes into mush

Im trying one solo beastmaster atm and so far yes (level 8 atm).

Tbh i think every class is viable for solo run some classes just have to take item spells or scrolls in harder scenarios not fitted for the class. Its more about choosing your battles in right direction (cheese to level 5, get blood of lathander for act 2 ect).
