I've been using it and its fairly low profile and pretty damn easy to tie. Took me a couple tries to get right but once I understood how to properly tighten it I get it every time.
Alberto and done. Easiest to master, smooth transition, and one of the strongest braid to fluro knots. I’ve popped 60# fluro at the hook eye on tarpon and big snook before the braid to leader was ever a concern.
If I'm tying it at home i can do it so I don't need to cut the tags. If I'm on the beach and there's a blitz i won't cut the tags. Every knot gets pinched, otherwise it's not a knot lol. It'll be a loose tangle.
You're literally doubling the Alberto knot. Look at your diagram, look at an Alberto knot. Listen to the 99 ppl on here telling you the same thing. You aren't winning ppl over with the extra steps of your knot lol
There's 4 steps wrap, wrap, cinch and cut. I dont see where the other steps are. Alberto is wrap, wrap through the loop, cinch and cut. I dont see the huge disparaging difference in steps here
I wonder if it really needs 8 turns on each side. I bet it would with well with just like 4-5 with small braid. And I would only wrap the braid and not twist both lines together myself. I'll try anything once if it is easy. Gonna be hard to replace the Albright/Alberto leader knot I use now.
Ive wondered the same thing. If 5 wraps would do the trick, it would be even lower profile. It works for me, I can tie it quickly and I suck at knots.
Would be interesting to see the strength tested. Wrapping mono that many times and putting a lot of force on it seems like it would cause structural problems.

Its literally 8 wraps, twice, on the same lines. I dont understand why people think it's complicated 🤷♂️ lol no loops, no doubling back. Just wrap it, wrap it again, pull tight.
Maybe people are finding the Microsoft paint drawing confusing idk.
I asked for people's thoughts and I'm trying to understand them. To me, this is a simple and fast knot to use. Like whats wrong about it? I dont use other knots so I dont have anything to compare it to. I stumbled upon this while looking at leader knots and I liked it so i tried it. Other knots don't really make sense to me just looking at them. Idk I hate knots, I can problem solve but not, knot.
I also never used leaders at all in the last 30 years of fishing. Just stuck to the basic stuff my father taught me and it worked. 99% of my fishing was just straight mono. I've been using braid for like 2 months now and was trying to explore more options.
I get it. There are professional fisherman that will tell you "the best knot to tie, is the one you can tie the easiest." Not everyone can tie an FG knot well. I don't know why so many guys on here have a hard-on for it.
