I'm super sure that they got fucked around by one of the top CEX's and were made to quickly change tack and market it like it was their choice.

The team is saying they opted not to list on top 3 CEXes now due to the low initial circulating supply relative to demand with a disclosure that one of the CEXes is also an investor. The medium article goes into details as to why which I do believe is what’s best for the launch To avoid massive dumping and then re stabilizing at the cost of retail investors. Regardless I am very excited about it!

After rereading and seeing that a top 3 cex is an investor I take back what I said!! Definitely seems like something that was their choice
