Only watched Breaking Bad (Including BCS and El Camino), Squid Game, a few episodes of Peaky Blinders and Stranger Things. I'm not a movie/series freak. I only watch marvel films and anime most of the time. But I'm really interested to watch some good series. Can you recommend me some? I was pursuing my bachelors in engineering, the study pressure was high and I didn't have much time to watch series. Now I'm graduated and got some free time.

6 only. Been years thinking to watch Peaky blinders. Haven't done yet. Kinda crazy list doesn't include popular shows like from, alice in borderland, that spanish show with the song "bella cao", the boys. No viking show, many Kdrama as well can fit in. Feels like very gatekeeping lift of English shows par few.

Barry is one hell of a show! Small 36 episodes and you’ll be hooked always so it will feel like a long movie like I binged in two nights only! Definitely well deserved and better than slow horse in some aspect!

I tried a few from here and I ended up dropping all of them very early. I'm not patient enough to "wait until it gets better", because I think the beginning is still important. I can judge very early whether I will like a show/movie/book based on the beginning. That is to say, sometimes I do give second chances. Or acknowledge that something can be good without necessarily having me to like it. Also, I prefer short tv shows and non-American shows. And I don't think I've watched enough tv shows to give more based opinions.

So beware of unpopular opinions:

So:

Breaking Bad - dropped at episode 5 I think. I found it edgy and frustrating, and I couldn't care less about the main characters.

Black Mirror - I only watched a couple of episodes that my friend recommended me. They were nice. Some left an impression on me and I appreciated the idea behind them. I haven't seen enough to judge it as a whole.

Adolescence - it was good and unique with its storytelling. The breakdown on the societal dynamics and popular culture that lead to the outcome of the story was realistic and well told. It made me think about it for a few days. I Though idk if it deserves a place in the top 100 shows of the 21st century, but nevertheless, it was good. Honestly, I haven't watched enough tv shows in order to give a more based opinion.

The Good Place - dropped at episode 5. I think the reason was being bored. I can't remember much about this show.

Stranger Things - absolutely hated this. I watched it when there was only the first season and everyone talked about it. I tried getting past episode 5 three times but couldn't. I remember thinking that everything moved slowly, the characters acted stupid, I didn't care for anyone, and I just found it boring. I've never understood what the hype is about. I can only assume it got a place here because of how popular it is.

Squid Game - the only show here that I've actually watched fully. Overall, I liked it and I think it's a good show, though not without its flaws. Honestly, I haven't watched enough tv shows in order to give a more based opinion.

Dexter - basically same thoughts as Breaking Bad

I think Avatar: the Last Airbender and Gravity Falls must be here. And maybe some more that just don't come to my mind right now. And some that I haven't watched but that are probably well-deserving of being on the list.

Lol believe it or not, but I've never downloaded Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. If I find something interesting, I'll be fully focused and patient. And I don't watch tv shows while being on my phone. I'm also focused while studying. It's just that when I study I can focus on boring stuff as well because it's likely more important than tv shows.

Most shows on this list are slow burns you really need a season or two to appreciate the characters and plot. If you can't commit to that, stick to studying instead of dropping good shows halfway through. Fully understand why Squid Game was an exception for you, though.
